Yeah I just made it back from riding in it. Ran up 360 to 20. Had to buzz between two cars practically sitting in the middle of the road carrying on a conversation.

Fort Worth, making runs all around town and just trying to have fun. :beach

Fort Worth here. Ride all over the DFW area. Where is the 157 run at? Getting tired of just hitting the clovers. I wanna use the left side of my tire. Haha.

FM 157 is Lone Star Road off Hwy 287 between Broad St and Hwy 360. Its a fun road with lots of tight turns.. Be careful though, most turns are blind.

Ride Safe!!

Hello all.
Brand new to the site. First night.

Carrollton here, and ride daily.
Have a 2008 Gold Wing for work commute. 2005 Honda VTX 1800F2, for bar hopping (though I don't drink at all). And, my newest stable member, 2006 Honda CBR2006RR.

I gave up on the chicks, so I have all the toys. Am always up for a ride, for anyone in the North Dallas area. Don't get south of Dallas barely ever.

If anyone is hitting the track days, I'll be doing RideSmart on Sunday 8/22 at ECR. ECR also has an event for bikes, hosted by Maxim Honda on 9/12, for $100, and am attending that one too.
:banana

Hope to meet up with some of y'all!

Any of you guys or gals do any of your own repair work? I'm looking for someone to show me how to do a couple of things, i.e. brake work, chain adjustment. I'm pretty mechnically inclined or I would like to think so. Just need a little guidance. Will provide beer and pizza of your choice.

Ive not had to do any brake work but chain adjustment is really pretty easy. All you need are stands and your stock tool kit. Do you know how to tweek your suspension?

Yeah I found out or I believe I found out that my issue isn't the adjusting, it's the chain and sprockets are needing to be replaced. The stock setup has approx 30k miles on it. I'm thinking the chain has stretched. I guess the only other option will be is to let a trained pro have a look at it.

What is the "issue" you are having?

.

Just been dealing with my chain constantly needing tightening. I've got 30k with original chain, and sprockets on my 06 ZZR6. I'm thinking its time to replace. Any recommendations on brand and size? Looking to have a balance between speed and torque.

No sir I don't... would really like to learn how though. Did you get out an ride today? Where do you guys generally meet on Saturday's?:meangreen:83500:00wsb:80500:02mgp

I personally like RK GXW XW-Ring chain and right now I'm running Driven sprockets with no complaints. I did a 520 conversion on my TLR with that chain and the smaller chain handled the big twin torque like a champ.

If you want "snappier" power delivery and a bit more lower end "torque" and still have some top end speed then go -1 on the front and leave the rear tooth count stock. If you want to really have "wheelie power" then go -1 on the front and +2 on the back. You will loose some top end speed and throttle response will feel a bit more sensitive but it can be a lot of fun.

At 30,000 miles it is time for a swap. Be sure to change both of them at the same time. Many people will tell you that just doing one or the other is fine but it is not.

Cool I'll be checking into this later to day. I guess if I'll be installing a new chain I better get a link breaker or do I need one?

Most likely you will need a chain tool. Most chains come longer than needed. Usually the hard part about doing a chain/sprocket swap is breaking the counter sprocket nut loose.

Since yours is stock with 30,000 miles in it, I would speculate that it will be a bitch to break it loose. You will probably need a cheater bar or an impact gun to get it off. What I do is put the bike in neutral and wedge a 2x4 in the "spokes" of the rear wheel when breaking the counter sprocket nut loose. I just don't feel comfortable using the tranny.

One other thing of note is the nut itself. Most of them are coated with some kind of locktight from the factory. That means that they are mention for one time use only. I always replace the nut when swapping the front sprocket. Your local dealership should have them in stock for a fe bucks.

Im mostly a solo rider but I did manage to get out on Sat. Went through a massive downpour between dallas and fort worth with my girl on the back (her first time in the rain). It was fun. I had about a cup's worth of water in my boots. Hahaha.

Suspension is pretty easy to do. I learned by watching a few youtube vids on the subject then just playing with the settings after each ride. Just remember that whatever you change on one side (Left/Right) you must make the exact same change on the other side.

Everytime you stop during a ride, do a 1/2 to full turn to any of the settings and see how it feels (righty tighty lefty loosy). Eventually you will feel better in the turns and will be passing those who dont know how to adjust their suspension. I started out leaning over on the bike then after I played with my suspension, Im carving into the turns.

Hi I'm new to Texas just moved to Allen from Florida. Is there any good ridding around here? Everything I have seen is straight and flat. I'm looking into doing some track days soon hit me up for a ride or whatever I ride a zx10 and a v strom so different types of rides are cool too. I just got back from a ride to Colorado on the strom the last 300 miles the stator went out so I'm ready to get the 10 out and play.
