Seriously now, who in their right mind would be like "hey dude, help me throw my gixxer in my bed, I wanna take pictures of it like it's sleeping" WTF

As long as you dont start it inside you'll be fine. Dont ask for permission from your landlord because no matter what state you're in the answer will be no. So go ahead and do it and if they something about it you can plead ignorance but if u ask ahead of time and do it anyway they can evict you.

Use to keep mine inside all the time til I bought a house with a garage. I did find that my bikes stayed alot cleaner when I did because having to look at them all the time made me polish and clean them constantly. Plus it's a pretty good conversation peice at dinner time. :eek:nfloor

LOL i used to keep my dirtbike upstairs in my apartment complex. I seriously wheeled it up some gnarly stairs, about 34 of them. I" had to hold the front brake and stop every two steps. I cant imagine trying to bring a 450+ lb motorcycle up the stairs. Can we say hernia?????????

You'll need to have a first or bottom floor apartment, or a freight elevator nereby. I have no idea how you could do that without help.

I think the question about keeping a bike in a second floor apt was rhetorical... I don't think anyone was actually thinking of a way to do it, besides maybe mind control... levitation that sort of thing bwahahah

Maybe there's a utility shed that's somewhat secure that you could use? I would also think about getting/installing a Scorpio, disk lock and a tie down anchor there if it has to be outside.
+1 i was also thinking about doing that just in case they give an upstairs apartment.

I showed my gf the pics and she said it looks exactly like a hotel room where the bikes are in bed. Nobody wants gas on their bed at home. So ruin a hotel/motel room. priceless.

Man, I keep my R1 in the middle of my dining room. Who needs a dining room set anyway?

I don't ever smell any gas. The only time I smell anything is after a ride. It has a very subtle "engine" smell only around the dining room. Not gas or exhaust, though. Not noxious at all and it goes away after the engine cools off.

And of course the warmth given off makes me feel fuzzy inside.

I would never tell the apt. complex and my blinds are always closed. So much for calling maintenence. My dishwasher has been broken for about 3 months now and I can't call maintenence to come fix the damn thing. I make sure the coast is clear before taking it out or bringing it in.

Still, I had the chick across the hall open her door right when I was in the middle of my doorway taking it out. She just gave me a funny look and I said, "Hi! How are you today?" She just smiled and said, "Fine, thanks" and walked away laughing. Glad she was cool about it!

Oh, and I'm on the 3rd floor! Forget pushing the bike up the stairs. I just ride the bitch up and down the stairway.

GHETTO is saving me over $100 a month in storage fees.

It's a fire hazard and it's also very GHETTO!
people store gasoline in the garage all the time (gas cans, power equipment), what's the difference? well, that was my initial thought at least.

on the other hand, if the place catches on fire and ignites the bike as a secondary, you could have a nice explosion from the 5 gallon enclosed gas tank. an explosion in a living area would be very hazardous to your health. it's risky however you look at it...just make sure you dont sleep in the same room with it and check your smoke detectors often!

So i will be moving to a apartment next month i just wanted too know is it safe too keep the bike inside the apartment or should i worry about fire codes and other shit like that.
YES WORRY ABOUT FIRE CODES AND SHIT LIKE THAT! BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
BECAUSE fire codes are in place to protect peoples lives and property. To try and skirt around rules, fire codes and regulations, you knowingly put others in jeopardy of loosing life and possessions in their home. Irresponsible behavior costs everyone. If you cost one person their life, because you choose to break the law, you have taken a life and become a murderer. Because, if you proceed forward a stupid decision, you have done so with malice of forethought. which means you knew better, but proceeded to make a decision that cost another their life. That's manslaughter.
If you cause a fire because you choose to fuel your motor cycle, or gas powered bicycle inside an apartment building you risk the lives of others and their property. Gasoline vapors inside can cause serious issues for babies, young children, and seniors. A victim is a person who suffers injury, illness or death, often at the careless hands of another. So you can choose to follow the law, or selfishly risk the lives of others. BUT REMEMBER if you do the crime you do the time. But the person you killed because you were irresponsible makes you totally accountable for negligent criminal behavior.
Because if you knew better and still choose to selfishly ignore laws, rules and regulations you have chosen with malice of fore thought. Which potentially can get you life in prison. So do the morally responsible thing by keeping yourself and others safe first and foremost. It is what you would expect from others as they expect from you.
