Dainese Torque boot vs. Daytona Evo Sport

I was originally going to lay down 600bucks for the Daytona Evo Sport boots, until i did a bit more research and found that Dainese also offered "similar" protection.

I also heard of Pumas being ranked with Daytona and Dainese boots.

The Dainese Torque boot is half the price of the Daytona Evo Sport boot. But the issue here is, I'm willing to pay as much as i need in order to have the best protection possible for my foot, while still being able to walk (hence i didn't choose the Evo Security or Axial Race).

What experiences and oppinions do you guys have?:popcorn

A recommendation by a local dealer was the Alpinestars Supertech R - the best protection they offer and comfortable enough to walk around in off the bike. Not as comfortable as some of the more road-oriented models like their SMX series, but relatively comfy.

I ride primarily on the street, using my bike for both commuting to work and weekend sport rides that stretch beyond six hours. The first boots that I bought were extremely protective and very uncomfortable. When I recognized how often I left the boots at home, I went shopping with different priorities. I picked up the Puma Desmos - decent protection and outstanding comfort - and they fell apart a year later due to poor zipper design. Now, I'm wearing Alpinestars SMX-5s. They're more protective than the Desmos and only marginally less comfortable. Vanity aside, they serve my purposes well.

At the time I picked up the SMX-5s, I checked out the Dainese Torque boots. They're definitely nice and stylish, but I didn't get the impression that they offered more protection. It surprises me that you believe they exceed the protection of the Sidi Vertigos, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

the reason i believe that is because of the ankle brace.

Sidi Vortice (the flagship) has an ankle brace, but i have heard reviews from a few people that compared to the INNERBOOT ankle brace it does not compare at all in the level of protection.

Daytona Evo Security is rated as #1, Evo Sport rated #2.

Dainese is the only one i've seen so far that has the inner boot ankle brace that is similar to the Evo Daytona.

Originally i was going to buy Sidis, and i admit they have quality stuff, but I'm demanding the best money can buy, so that's what i'm doing

Oh, wow thats pretty bad.

I have the technic speedstar kangaroo boot that was on close-out on STG for awhile, and I believe its almost the same as the Daytona boot, and the ankle is very stiff sideways like that. .

Crashed twice in them (one a slow crash on the street, the other about 60-70 on the track), once my foot was stuck under the bike, and they held up great, still use them.
