Finally finished my project just in time for the cold weather.. LOL oh well, i'll get a ton of use next year out of them..

so i wanted to put some locking hard bags on the bike and nobody makes a kit for our bikes, the closest was the ZR7 kit, but they discontinued that and you still had to do some fabbing and it looked like crap and didn't fit perfect, among other things blocking the key hole for the rear seat... i really wanted to be able to lock up some gear and get groceries and the like.. i also was never comfortable leaving my $800 aerostich suit draped over the bike...

so... i started from scratch and designed my own mounting rack in solidworks, had it fabbed and welded, and then powdercoated... and this is the end result...

I have a Givi E35 traffic topcase with E-92 light kit installed, and then i have 2 E21 sidecases and 2 E360 sidecases, i haven't decided on which cases i'll keep for the sides, the E21's are slick and small, but the E360s can fit a full face helmet and my 15.4" laptop in it's case...

I'd love to hear some comments, i think it turned out great and looks pretty decent...

Some may say, well just buy a sport touring bike, well I love my ZZR/ZX6R and don't want a 600lb bike :) I like my 400lb bike...

awesome, but you better put them to good use, lets see some ride reports, and no pussy hotel touring. you have the luggage for camping equipment. I run a large topcase on my rsvr

Very nice fabrication job on the mounting racks for the side cases. I like the fact that you mounted the bags at an angle that accommodated the Yoshimura exhaust. Great job! I have been considering E360 cases for a long time. I really like what you did.

Looks good. Im not a fan of cases, but if they serve a purpose for you. Id consider fabing some kind of backpad for the center case for 2up. The other might like it.
GIvi makes pads that attach, she sat on it and said it's fine as is, we'll have ot take a spin though and see if she wants a pad or not.

You should have several set fabbed and sell them. Seriously...

I've ridden with both the E21s and the E360s now, not fully loaded yet though... i don't really notice them back there at all, i'll have to try on a windy day. I probably will never take the topcase off, just that case alone rocks, and the extra brake light is a bonus. I rode a bit yesterday, it was sweet to just throw my stuff in the case and lock it up...

My aerostich can stuff into the E21 if i remove the back pad and hip pads (the optional pads)... E360 without removing anything..

The other nice thing is that the rack is only 4 bolts to remove it, so if i do any track days next year, it'll be easy to remove. I'll probably just find another zx6r for a track bike, and keep the ZZR more touring orientated...

I have heated oxford grips on the way... and i tested out my aerostich heated vest yesterday (man is that a nice thing to have)... it was about 50 degrees yesterday when i was riding around, my hands got chilly near the ends, which the grips should solve... i always have problems with my hands in winter in general though, so the vest might be enough for some people...

Actually, nope, becaues all i can do is link the picture to where it is, so if you can't view it there, it'll just be blocked here as well.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm undecided on what i want to do with the plans yet and if i want to produce more. I've had several requests already and so i'm deciding what i want to do and if it's something i want to reproduce through my company.

Until i make a decision, i'm keeping the plans private. I will let everyone know what i decide when i decide.

Until then, enjoy the pictures :) Setup has been working great for me, when the weather permits. :)

And another. Man, I miss having the Givi I had on my FZ6. So convenient to toss crap in and lock it up.
