I see you're all from Iowa. Step foward and introduce yourselves, eh? Don't be shy... :) I'm hoping to organize a second "Meet-n-Greet" sometime in August and possibly centered around the Des Moines Bikes in the City event. Suit up and post up! Would love to meet more Iowa sportbikers in our little community.

Hey what's up, thought i'd say hi - no bike yet :( the car is sucking up too much money (turbo took a shit the other day). I'll hopefully have one when I get back from the Army in March - but i'd go to a meet and greet.

Hi all...I'm in Iowa city. I'm currently between bikes right now as I was ran off the road by a cage about 5 weeks ago. I was fully geared and came out of it with a broken clavicle. Both insurance companies found her 100% liable and her's is recompensating the damages to me. I've already ordered a full compliment of new gear (since all my old stuff was destroyed) which should be in next week. I had an '03 FZ1 (great bike!)...it was a write off after the accident. I have an '04 Honda Interceptor (asphalt) being held in storage at the dealership for me when I am all healed up. Hopefully soon, but the shoulder is still pretty tender. I've got about 60,000 miles on various motorcycles. I don't stunt or wheelie..I do like the twisties and I do wear full gear. The earliest I see myself riding would be near the end of August....still have to see if the bone has knit together though.

You dad worked at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the Security Management department, well I have worked there for the last 14 months. I was one of the other temps that was training him, and he had a picture of you and your bike on his desk!

I am 17 and am from Monona. I still haven't gotten a bike yet, and am waiting until a little more money is in the hands. Currently I'm watching the prices on used 250 Ninjas. Riding time for me this year will be very limited, because my senior year of high school will be starting in late August, and sports take up the rest of my time.

Well hey good luck with that. The 250 will be great to learn on. I wanted a bike my senior year too but I had to wait tell last summer(summer after my senior year) to start riding.

I agree with rsxtc about the 250 ninja being great to learn on.Have you guys ever checked out the resale value on those things? Its unbelievable. Its a great bike to start on and you will get most of your money back when you want something else.Thats kind of hard to beat in my book. That reminds me,Hey Dimitry one grand more for your bike than what you paid.Come on,PLEASE.

Hey all-

TheWraith pointed me this way and asked I introduce myself.

I'm Jon...23, going to Iowa State. Only one more year of school left :( I'm finishing up a master's in Information Assurance (think computer security...hacking and stuff)...i'm really not ready to leave school...its too much fun. I also snowboard, paintball and well....live at the Campustown bars :)

No bike yet, but i've got leads on both a FZR 400 and a 91 F2. If anyone's got anyother leads on an inexpensive bike (think sub 2000), pass em my way!

Hey gixxerchic could I swap that gixxer engine it to my slow ass Ducati sometime?I wouldnt need it for very long just something like forever.
lol, yeah, if i could come up with the money for chad's busa i would consider sellin mine, but thats not likely to happen. what i'd really like to do is just get the motor from him and work it into my frame. then we'll see how fast i can go.

sounds like a small world when ya run into someone who works with my dad (who currently isn't with them at the moment).

its too bad we got rained out today, bike was running pretty well considering i've been out of practice for over 2 months. oh well, maybe next time there will be a better turn out.
