And Suzuki has downsized it's entire media communications department. What's next there?

What I'm reading in the Yamaha article is that Graves will be responsible for more of the R&D. Sounds like MX is going to be pretty much same-ole'-same-ole'.

There was an article on The Soup's website about DMG meeting with AMA also that sounded interesting, though with Dean's constant anti-DMG slant, it may be nothing at all and he's just trying to stir shit that isn't there.

I find it interesting that DMG hasn't made one announcement since the end of the season, not even on next year's schedule. The series should've been licensed to Live Nation.

I notcied that blurb about AMA/DMG meeting sans Edmondson.

There are still no details so I guess we'll see.

You are right about DMG being very quiet. Nothing since that shindig in AC right after the season and a couple blurbs about the Daytona shootout. Nothing regaurding rules, schedule, sponsorship ect ect.

A little odd. There was more noise last year with RE chasing off Honda and Suzuki. Granted Suzuki is in bad shape overall which may have had a bit to so with it, vice DMG mis-management, but we ALL know Honda is can afford to race.

Yamaha was the most involved factory in AMA/DMG last season, along with Suzuki. Yamaha was also the most 'on board' with the DMG business plan for AMA Pro Racing. This is quite a blow. The only thing preventing a total AMA/DMG/Buell takeover is the sudden demise of Buell... :eatpop

Who's left?

Honda is basically out next year, even more than they were this year.
Yamaha is going the support only route with Graves. This after the fact that Yamaha was poised to be the new dominant force.
Suzuki/Yoshimura will now be a shadow of it's former juggernaut, if they race at all.
Kawasaki?
Ducati/Pegram?
Buell?

Anybody else?

Anybody care?

Holy shit! Look who crawled out from under a rock! Staying or just visiting to stir the pot a bit?

The lack of any news out of Daytona really isn't very settling. No exciting news about a schedule, nothing about a series sponsor, no new teams to speak of.

Technically, RMR/Rossmeyer could run the Buells for 2 more years...that is if they can find funding to replace what Buell was undoubtedly putting forth.

See the posting on Soup yesterday about the meeting @ AMA headquarters? Hard to judge what that's all about, especially with Dean's unbridled hatred of all things DMG.

I've just about gone full circle again. Last year I thought the series was doomed. Then as the year went on, and I got to a couple of races, I started having some hope. Well, with all the crap the second half of the season I'm back to scratching my head and thinking WTF?!

I've heard rumor that the AMA is going to try to buy the series back and have someone else run it. Sounds pretty far-fetched with what Rob Dingman has said repeatedly over the past year, but at the same time what's been happening is only hurting the AMA brand name.

Give WERA a shot at it. I bet they'd do better. Or even Live Nation.

I just read today that it hasn't been made public, but Kawasaki is very likely done with AMA Pro and Suzuki, if they stay involved will only be a shell of what they were.

In the meantime, no schedule expected for at least 2 more weeks.
