hey everyone has to start somewhere....

Ive decided to take the route of getting a older, cheaper bike that runs good to learn on. I want to practice while saving my money up for an R6. I have never ridden a bike and the consensus through my research is that this is the best route to take....

So i am looking for any bike that is good for a beginner... looks is not that important *shrug* I just need something that will not break down and i will not have to make any repairs on it soon. Im looking to pay anywhere from 500-1000 for a bike. The DC/MD/Va area is preferrable. Thanks
