i put all of my gas on the credit card because i'm too lazy to take off my helmet and earplugs and also i like to fill it to the very tippy-top while i'm sitting on it...

anyways, i got my bill for the last month, right around $200. those $10 fill-ups add up fast.

just curious how much you guys with liters have to spend since i get anywhere from 45-54 mpg on my lil 600. it has an easy life hauling around my skinny ass

I know. I feel the pain. Those $6 fillups add up quickly. Well, not that quickly. Hah.

Two days? Shit.. I go through tanks of fuel in 120km when Im having fun. Some days I fill it like 4 times... :D Its a toy though, you cant really complain about excessive fuel usage. If I were strictly commuting it would be super cheap.

I'm about 90% commuting and I spend maybe $35 a month, but my CBR gets surprisingly good mileage at 40-45 MPG depending and wrist twisting.

I generally fill up once a week. The bandit should be no different because I,m a conservative rider and they get great mileage. I hit the twisty backroads on the weekends only. works out great.

There was a point this summer for like 2 and a half months I was going through a tank of gas maybe 2 every day. Not to mention tires and oil, brakes, all sorts of shit.

That caught up with me pretty quick.

Yeah, it does add up (I too, am a pay-at-the-pump kinda guy). Even though I use my bike for commuting as well as pleasure, I've always looked at it as a hobby similar to my dirt bikes and snowmobiles. Though it may be a more cost-efficient hobby to maintain that the other revenue devourers I mentioned, it's still not a poor man's sport by and large. They say nothing in life worth having is easy. Canolies go straight to your hips, and hobbies lighten the pocket. Ah, so is life (and I wouldn't change it for the world).

wow, u guys get shitty gas mileage. i get about 180 miles till the light comes on which means i still have a good 1 gallon of fuel up so divide 180 to 3.2 gallons..that comes up to 56 mpg. But then, i commute a lot.

If you haven't seen Fuelly.com before, check this out. My 1098's gas mileage charted out:

Ducati 1098 yellow (Ducati 1098) | Fuelly

They have a mobile version of the site where you can enter your trip, miles, and price per gallon on your phone when you fill up. You can set a shortcut on the home screen of the iPhone too, so it logs right in.

I get 30-35mpg depending on how hard I ride her, which is usually just about WFO at least a few times. I consider that pretty decent milage for a 4 cam, 4 plug, liter twin, with pretty high compresion and a 92 octane minimum. I see it this way; I get 30-35mpg going 0-100 in under 5 seconds on my ape, or 20-24mpg in my AWD Legacy wagon doing 0-100 in about, oh 28 seconds? Rough guess.
