I was cleaning the chain this morning, and was trying to get some of the gunk out from behind the forward spocket cover. I noticed that a rubber line that runs from the tank on the left and then to the right through a clip on the underside of the resevoir there had drooped and was resting on my chain. It's worn half through, there's a hole about 3mm across. When I found the other end under the bike and tugged it to get the line back in place, a bit of water came out. I think it's the tank vent tube, but I'm not sure yet.

Anyway, it's worth noting that the location of various lines should be checked regularly. I might even break out some of my mini zip ties to ensure this doesn't happen again.

good tip. just don't forget about those zip ties if you try to raise the tank.
Good point, that. In fact, the slack in the tube that allowed it to droop in the first place may have come from the dealership lifting the tank to replace my TPS this winter last.

Who hasn't had to lift the tank for one reason or another? It's worth checking the slack on the lines, it only takes a minute.
