2 words: EAR PLUGS

Always wear ear plugs. There's no such thing as a quiet helmet. Wear ear plugs or you WILL suffer permanent hearing loss.

What wind noise?
I did try riding the bike briefly w/o the windshield when I changed over from the stock to the taller one - nearly blasted myself off at 75mph and the noise was LOUD. There is sure to be a lot of wind noise however you look at it, because there are so many variables (windshield type, body shape and size, jacket type, helmet type, air density, wind speed and direction). I have more wind noise with the taller wind screen than with the stock, but less buffeting on my head because I'm short (5'7"), which is a trade-off I can live with. A good pair or earplugs makes all the difference, regardless of helmet type. Actually, I feel the fz is the quietest sport-type bike I've ever ridden.

It's the windshield. But there's a lot of other variables. Helmet, head height, head rotation, body width and positioning, and sometimes just plain ole sound level/pitch tolerance which differs with each individual. Some just get used to it, and some just experiment with different ideas to make it better.

Which one are you?:)

[edit] darn joe, you beat me to it.. :eek:nfloor
