I am looking to put some Galfer chrome rotors on my bike to replace the standard OEM rotors. however, I also have some extra EBC Sintered Double-H brake pads I can put on there. Is sintered to hard for chrome? Will it gouge out part of the rotor where the brake pad rubs?

I can easily just use organic, but I always thought organic was bad in the rain/snow/cold. I live in Chicago so those things are of concern to me since it may be a beautiful day when I start to ride and then turn into rain/snow in a matter of minutes (You know what they say, Chicago has four seasons, usually all in the same day).

The rotors are going on a sport touring bike and I was going more for the appearence/flashy look then for anything else so them being gouged would not be ideal. Also, this bike is a weekend ride bike (not racing or track day) and maybe some long rides in spring/summer.

sintered pads can only be used on Stainless Steel discs only.
I don't see how a chrome rotor will not be messed up by any pad. are you sure the chrome part is only the part where the rotor bolts to the rim?

You are worried about the carrier or the friction surface?

ok the carrier is chrome. not the rotor itself. you can use any kind of pad you want on those. the rotor surface itself is going to look just like the ones on your bike right now, no matter what.
plus since they are actually chrome and not polished they will be easy to clean. my sintered pads don't leave any more dirt than a standard pad. infact, I think they are a bit cleaner.

Ok, well if only the carrier is chrome, then I will just use the standard stainless. I keep reading that Double-HH tears up any rotor and are "dirty". I have used them before but for very long, maybe 100 miles before I put the bike in storage. Are they really that abrasive and dirty? If so I will need to go back to organic.

na, it's fine.

Most all sportbikes come with HH pads, mine did, your's probably does too.
