I ride all around W MI. Good roads? Depends on what you mean. My new nearby favorite is Blue Star Highway. From Saugatuck down to St Joseph. I am also crazy aout the roads south of Hastings and North of Kzoo. Some great bar crankers around there.
If you try and follow the Muskegon river from Norton Shores area up to Newaygo you will find some great turns as well. I can disappear and run them for a couple hours and have a great time. Gotta watch for some sand and teh Amish buggies! Real close to my house so I am not driving for an hour just to go riding. See ya round

Iron Mountain !!! Not by any of you it sucks riding by my selfe !!!!
I was in Iron Mountain back in the day. I was on an interceptor back then. Wow the memories in that place, ski jump, Lake Antoine (sp?)

I know memories are always sweeter than reality and get warped over the years, but..... I remember Morgan County Park Rd. Followed some creek or river. I think it was just out of town or just into WI?? It was soooo damn twisty. I popped my knee draggin' cherry on that road! Met a big damn orange county truck and just about gave him a hood ornament. We both shit, swerved and barely missed. Phew!

I haven't been out there much this summer either. I did see them there a few weekends ago though.

I don't really see the point of hanging out there though...it's not like there's any cool roads right around there to go mess around on.

Thunderbird

Is it all tricks or is there some racing? I dont do too much in the trix dept, just kinda go fast. I do have a couple guys that might be interested in coming over to race. Classes? Brackets? Grudge matches? whats the story?!

Yes, you have some yum yums on there.

Why are the cuties attracted to the squidly, no gear wearin, just got out of Vo-tech, ride like a hoodlum, but can do a stoppie, spent my paycheck on cool graphics, types.

wheres thunderbird?

Hey where is that? cant find it on any searches except some track in TX. Talked with a guy that, well, I think I wanna go try and spank his azz. Says he outruns everyone out there and has thousands upon thousands of $ into his bike. I'm pretty sure he is American Native, and belongs to the shitawka tribe.

So wheres it at?

Thunderbird is 12 miles North of Muskegon just off 31. Take the Russell Rd. exit and turn rt (if you were just headed north). Then at the first stop light take a left and the track will be on the right after you go under 31.

No racing on Thursdays, just stunting I believe. They have open runs on Wed. nights from 4-8. $15 for all the passes you can make.

Let me know if you head over, I'll check it out with ya!

good 'ole shelby T.

48315? I'm 48317 so we're neighbors. I've been riding around here for the past 13 years and your best bet IMHO is North on Romeo Plank to Armada Center (go East about 1/2 mile), then North on Capac Rd. Take that North for 10 miles or so and you'll start to see some pretty nice roads.
Also, try Orion Rd. up to Silverbell - go right on silverbell for say 5-10 miles and you'll run into some nice roads in that neck of the woods.
One more, take Rochester road North all the way to Lakeville. You'll run into Lakeville lake, but before you do, you'll run through some decent twisty's, and there are plenty more in and around that area.
I go out to Grattan raceway about 6 times per year to get my fill of the track. It's about 2 1/2 hours from Shelby and $ 150 per day. Believe me it's worth it. Track riding ruins you for any "twisty's" you'll find on public roads. It's the ultimate riding experience, I highly recommend it.

I live in Highland and ride through Milford to Brighton to Pinkney to Hell to Unadilla to Ann Arbor. Good route with plenty of twisties of various degrees of difficulty. Just watch out for the Harleys and slow vehicles, plus some roadkill and gravel on some roads.

Ha Ha! At least you had the balls to post the crash as well as the riding! I went to grattan for a track day this summer. My first track day, and yes I can not wait to go back! So much fun, and so little other distractions so you can really learn to feel out your bike and what you can do, or cant do! I am thinking of just setting one bike up for track days only. No sense in screwing up my daily rider. Plus pulling all the tape off my lights sucks.

I made it out to thundebird one Thursday just to check it out. Was fun to watch those guys. Gotta make it on weds with the bike ready to "run" and have some fun.
