I took it a few years ago, after I had my license for about 2 years. Its pretty good, and worth the $20 or whatever. Everybody is real nice and I had a good time there.

I know a lot of people repeat the course every few years to keep their skills up, but I dont know if I'd do it again. I figure with track riding and reading all sorts of publication I keep myself relatively refreshed, though I'm sure going again wouldn't hurt.

I took it after 30+ years of riding.

Did I know everything they taugh me?

Yeah, most of it but mostly it was a very good way to practice braking, collision avoidance and other skills you need on the street without worrying about cars. We shared a lot of stories about near-misses on the streets and dumb stuff we had done that almost got us.

It was a fun day spent re-sharpening my handling skills on a cool course.

After taking the BMC they said to wait a few thousand miles to take the advanced. I plan on taking it next year. It's $100-$200 here in WA.
I am waiting as well...the instructors at the BRC said to get comfortable with the new bike. Once I get a few thousand more miles on the 954 and am more able with it, I will take the ERC and the level 1 cornering class at www.californiasuperbikeschool.com...my Woman said she would pay for the Keith Code class in Los Angeles for my B-Day. Wo0t!

I took it last year and it was my first time on a bike. I learned a lot and I feel that it has helped me start off my riding experience on the right foot. Did I know a lot of the stuff they taught in the classroom. . .yes. . but that was from reading up and using common sense. I learned a lot on the actual road course sections. . .most important to me was the proper technique.

I took the beginner's class, but not advanced. Nowadays I'm more interested in track days than another MSF course. I do routinely practive low-speed maneuvers in parking lots, but am not really interested in the advanced course.

When I took the experienced one, 80% of the material seemed to be the same as the beginner's.

If I can come up the $220 arizona wants for it I will but I think it is way over priced.
For something the state should be encouraging riders to take they should make it more affordable then more people would take it.
I dont understand how it can range from free over $200 from state to state.

I've taken it twice.

I had a situation just last week where the skills I learned in the Experienced RiderCourse mitigated a potential accident.

My one and only (knock on wood) overnight hostpial-visit motorcycle wreck would have been significantly lessened or perhaps completely avoided had I leaned the skills from the ERC before the incident.

Did I say that I recommend it?

Grad March/05.
1st time in the class because the wait for the basic class was too long. With about 2 years of experience I thought the information taught was good but a lot of "no brainier" material. 5 minutes after the class started it started to rain in sheets (NO lightning/thunder) The instructors continued the class and expected us to perform the drills as if it were dry. GREAT confidence builder which has saved me in the wet stuff as well as the sunny days more than once!

I took a defensive driving class at the Army base I was stationed at back in the 70's. That was a great class taught by a Md motorcycle cop. Fricking scary as hell and the skills I learned there saved my butt at least twice.

I took the ERC class last year. It was an interesting class (mostly BMW's) but the instructors seems to focus on the less able riders so I pretty much spent the day following the instructions given by the coaches and then playing on the course after class.

Fortunately it only cost me $35 (normally $50) because it was a BMW specific group with a couple of open slots. I think the class was just about worth the $35 but probably not worth the $50.

I have been riding for a while, off an on and I do read and practice motorcycle technique books so maybe I should be hitting something like a commuting or track skills course.

I took it last year, I pretty much knew everything that they try to teach, it was worth the money in my opinion, the only downfall to the class is that they are giving licenses to people who are not even close to being ready to ride on the road, pretty scary when you think about it.

I feel like I took some stuff away from it. In PA it is free so it's just an excuse to do some fun stuff on the bike. I like some of the low speed drills even though you don't use them that often in real life.
