I have had my eye on the Dainese Laguna Seca for a while. Regular price of $450. I can get if for $280 this weekend, so I am going to pick one up. I was thinking I want the white, as my current mostly black with silver Frank Thomas Strike 2 gets pretty warm during the summer. Would a white jacket make that much of a difference over a black jacket?

Also, how much of a bitch is it to keep the white clean? If I buy a white jacket, am I going to end up with a dingey gray jacket before long?

They are ordering a white in my size, and they have a black. That way I can try them on side by side and make my decision. What say you? Black or white?

I have a white/black leather/mesh mix jacket (mesh is mostly black). Yes it's mesh so it will be cooler but I have to tell you it's not to bad to sit in traffic. Wear a white shirt out in sun and then wear a black you ill deifnitely feel the difference.

I've had the jacket for about 5 months now and it's not to bad. It does get a bit dirtier but I don't clean it to often (only 2 times really). It's more like a white jacket with some dark marks here and there... nothing crazy.

White does have another benefit.... it's a bright visible color.

The white in my size came in yesterday, so I went by after work and looked at the white and the black. After trying them both on, I decided to go with the white. Because of the sale this weekend, I was going to wait and send a buddy to pick it up for me so that I could get another 20% off. They went ahead and wrang it up with the discount yesterday so I could get it then. So now I have a white laguna seca jacket to hang in my closet and wait for warm weather next spring.

White is a %&$# site easier for numb skulls in cars to see when you are in traffic. It really is cooler if you ride in hot sunny weather a lot, DUH!

Keeping clean: Get in the habit of wiping it down and use caution with some leather dressing/treatments to avoid discoloration. (try um in a hidden place first before general use.

great price. Where did you find that? The only thing about that jacket that irks me is that it doesn't have a zipper for pants.

Anyhow white is cooler (temperature wise), more visible and infinitely more sensible but I'd still get the black. lol

I got the jacket at cycle gear. Closeout has it $100 off. Then they had the sale this past weekend. Manager told me he was pretty sure it was just supposed to be 10% off, as 20% off was for clearance items, and this was closeout. There is a difference. But he went ahead and gave me the 20%. Also, since I live about 70 miles away but work close, he let me have the discount early, rather than making me wait for the wicked weekend sale. Price came to $301 after tax.

And after trying the white on with my helmet, I just wasn't satisfied. I took it in and exchanged in Monday for the black w/ white symbol. I have been riding in a mostly black jacket for 2 years, so I figure it won't kill me. I like the way the black look much more than the white. The only reason I really considered the white was because it would be so much cooler. But I did not want to look at my jacket and not be happy with what I saw, regardless of it being cooler.

Black or White jacket,

The both get dirty the same.

You just actually SEE where it is diry on White.

And I guess i'm a little late, but Laguna SECA jacket is crap.
I'm sorry to tell you. I would maybe ride very low speed in that jacket.
The leather is thin, armor is no good and this is a 400 dollar jacket!
