The gixxer has been criticized for it's long handle reach and short peg distance. but it does have the softest seat in the 05 supersport camparo.

ohh yeah, as far as between the Yamaha or Honda, you can't go wrong with either. All are good bikes though both are relatively lifeless under 10,000 rpm - the new R6 even more so since it redlines at 17,500 rpm. The 06 gixxer600 has a nicer powerband IMO. check the attachment.

the new 1000RR is supposed to be the tits, but Im sorry it does nothing for me what so ever, never have been a fan of the 600RR or the 1000RR the R1 on the other hand is damn sexy and as said your most likely not gonna notice a difference between the two

Buy whichever bike you like the best... besides; like the others said being that it is a liter bike you (as an average rider like most of us) will not really feel any difference in HP, go with which one fits you the best. Good luck on the buy... SHOW SOME PICS IF YOU DO!
cheers

The R1 fits me best. The honda though has what for me is the BEST feature. Hydraulic clutch is pinky finger smooth and easy. Bad thing is other than that I like NOTHING about the 1000rr. I'm sorta shopping for an R1 now. Need to try out a k6 gix first.

I spent some time sitting on both these bikes also. The tank on the Honda has nice cut-outs for your legs to tuck in. It's fit & finish is nice, but so is the Yamahas. The Yamaha has a great gauge package, but look past that & it looks to squared off while sitting on it looking down. Of course u dont look straight down while your driving, its just something that bugs me. I totally disagree w/Baker, ALL the reviews on the '05 Gixxer 1000 say how compact & small it feels compared to the other liter bikes. Suzuki has REALLY made a liter bike that IS 600 size. I sat on an '06 Gixxer 1000 & it feels great!!! I dont like some of the layered plastic around the cockpit, but for me it's definately the most comfy. I'd say the Honda & Yami are about even as far as comfort. Also, in reading as much as I could about the 06 CBR1000RR, most reviews thus far say it's a handful on the track. It's handled better w/race slicks @ a track pace but the front always want to come up. They've also stated that the improvements made could make it more of a handful the the "average Joe". I too will be getting a new liter bike this year, & it really comes down to looks & price cause they're ALL great machines!

OK, my turn...the R1 sucks...a 600 on steroids...the mags even use my quote now...been saying this for two years now...since I owned one of the first to hit S. Florida...and sold it because of it...no no no lowend power, but has a BIG hit at around 8,000rpm...but why wait??? You bought a literbike didn't you??? Aren't you supposed to have MIDRANGE? Wheew...sorry for thr rant, but I don't like the bike at all...cost me time, money, and excitement that was a big letdown once I rode it...though it looks great...

Now, time to jump on Honda's dick...the 1000rr IS the best bike I have ever ridden...period...and I own one because of it...no, it's not that comfy and the powerband never really HITS, but it IS FAST, stable as hell, and after some aftermarket love, looks awesome...I love this bike, I've ridden almost everthing...fast and on one wheel...and this is almost as good as it gets...

I said almost because the 06 1000rr just arrived...we'll see...

Any more questions?

:lao :eek:nfloor
You must've rode a lemon then...my 05 R1 has tons of go down low with the exup in place.....enough to take any Honda. The Zed10 and Suzook are right up there though. The Honda is a pig.....good roadbike but sucks at the track.

Man i was in the same exact situation 2 years ago. 04 R1 vs. 04 1000rr vs. zx10r. The best thing that you can do, and I know it is hard, is to ride both bikes. I was able to let people that I ride with let me test out their bikes before I made a decision. The reason that this is hard is becasue who wwants to trust somone to ride their 1000cc bike when all they have riden before is a R6. The only reason that they handed me the keys is because we are friends and they have seen how I ride and know that I can handle a bike. I bought my ZX10 mainly because of the low-end power that the R1 did not have. IMO it felt like it didnt want to start really moving until about 9000 rpm, and I wanted that low end wheelie torque. So the I went between the ZX10 and 1000rr. I was leaning more to Honda because of the F4 that I had currently owned and how bulletproof their product is. The 1000rr is MUCH smoother then my ZX10, as in throttle response, ride, powerband.... Best thing you can do is ride each bike or at least sit on one.
The only reason that I did not buy the 1000rr was just because "felt" better. It is hard to explain but the ZX10 just felt more "natural" in between my legs. Have put about 8k on my 10 and have not had ONE problem. I just keep up to date on the maintaince and she keeps on going, and I ride my bikes VERY hard.
If you are not all about looks check into the 06 ZX10 because they have worked on a lot of the complaints of the 04/05 model (shifting is pretty rough on mine!!) but i still think that it is the ugliest bike Kawi has put out. Everything that I have read about the 06 1000rr is praise. It finally has the power and looks to really put a hurting on the other big 3 companies. And everyone owns a freaking R1 lol....
Good luck with whatever you decide!!!!!!!!!

Well, guys, I think my theory is correct...I'm swaying to believe that i WILL notice a huge difference if I chose the Yami when at low range/speeds...and quite frankly, that will bug the shit out of me- - this is half the reason why I sold my R6...lack of no low end power...even though they have added 3 horsepower, I can't see how that will make a huge difference in a more linear torque curve.

The honda on the other hand, which i have driven an 05 repsol, had a very fast, but smooth torque curve with loads of low end..since they have dropped 17 pounds for 06, i can only imagine the "grin factor" when twisiting the throtlle!! I also heard that they had put a more comfortable seat on this bike...

So now it comes down to the fact...which bike is more comfortable for a guy who is 5'9" 200lbs
