I'm in the market for my own sportbike finally, i've been riding my bro's 600rr until now. I like his honda, the only thing is a find it a little cramped.

Are there any supersports that run a little roomier for a tall guy (i'm 6'3) without getting into the 1000cc range (i'm not sure i'm ready for that kind of power at the moment... biggest i'd be willing to go would be the gsxr750). Obviously if I was going entirely for comfort I wouldn't be riding a sport bike at all but hey... they're sexy.

If only shopping for a bike was like a car... i'd love to test ride everything haha, thanks for any suggestions.

Im 6'2 and my R6 feels fuckin awesome. But thats speaking for myself...someone else who may be 6'2 and 175lbs might think its uncomfortable.

You should try going to a few dealers and sitting on as many bikes as you can.

any semi recent sportbike will be a torture rack. Even the cbr1000 i sat on felt cramped (I'm 5'10). That's no accident, the designers did that to better distribute your weight. It's quite possible that you'll find one that fits you well, but if not, look into the sport touring category. They're more relaxed there, and you can be just as big of a hooligan on them as on the pure sportbikes.

If you're deadset on a certain bike though, there are things you can do. You can relocate the pegs some (need to buy kits), and it may be possible to install higher/wider handlebars (fairings permitting).

I'm 6 ft even. I'm rocking a 2008 ZZR600. It's pretty comfy until I'm in the saddle over 5 hours and then my knees and hips start getting sore. I'm thinking my next bike will be a ZX14, Busa, or maybe a Concours 14. The larger bikes are simply better for long distances.

When I bought my '04 ZX6R it was solely based upon the fact that it was supposed to have better ergos for taller guys (I'm 6' 1" 190lbs.) I always felt pretty comfortable on it, my knees stuck out a fair bit beyond the fairings but that's normal for me because most of my height is in my legs.

I rode a 07 cbr600rr a few months back, felt like my head was right over the front wheel, felt EXTREMELY small.

So take that for what it's worth.

I'm 6'2.5", and my YZF 600 feels very spacious. My friend's Kawasaki Versys feels even better. I would say that the R6, being my bike's successor, would feel the same, but I think it has a much more aggressive geometry.

I know Drez is a tad taller then me. I'm 6' 1 1/2", 210lbs. My RSV-R is uber-comfortable. Here's one of Drez's favorite pics, our bikes together:

6'5" 230 here. I ride a ZZR600 and it feels good to me, but I don't have experience on many other bikes. I often ride 250-300 mile days, and the only thing that hurts is the inside of my thighs from the seat.

My brother's old bike, a Ninja 650R, also fit my body well, but I don't like the upright position... or the buzzing, vibrating motor, for that matter.

I'm 6'2" and I love my 600rr, but obviously that's not fitting you very well. Just goes to show the best thing to do is go and sit on them. I went from a KLR650 which I felt was a skyscraper compared to the 600rr, but I'm more than comfy on my current bike. Obviously long distances can cause comfort issues, but that's a sportbike for you IMO. Good luck finding the right bike for you, it tends to be fun to go check out the different models.

My tona is better with helis, but is still not as comfortable as my friends r1. The r6s is a comfortable bike, and the sv is as well. Just remember what you get is only a starting point. You can customize the bars, pegs, controls to fit you. So 1st find a bike that pleases your eye, and touches all the right nerves, then get the ergos worked out through customizing the fit to your body.

I'm 6'2" and my FZ1 is very comfortable. Rode my buddies 06' GSXR the other day and was sooo glad it wasn't mine. Only 600 bike that is decent and not a torture rack is the F4i. Very comforable, and you have the option of 2 seats, or the banana seat, if you want a newer one. I used to ride an 02' GSXR 600 and it fit a taller guy much better than the newer bikes. Tank was wider, and the reach to the bars was better.

sweet. Why do you have your cars listed under the Sportbikes column.

My day is going much better now that I know you have a 2006 Passat and a 1997 Lexus.. :cheers
