I went riding on wednesday night with a friend of mine and we both had passengers. I came to a stop at an intersection and for some odd reason my friend didn't stop and plowed through the back of my brand new SV1000S. The girl on the back of his bike was the only one hurt badly she needed 38 stitches in her left knee. Here is a few pics of the bikes.

Estimate for damage to my bike was $5,800 but I'm hoping his insurance company won't total it out. Sucks cause I didn't even make it to the first break in point. Well I'll keep everyone updated on things. Ride safe guys.

Damn man, that sucks! That bike wasn't even a week old. I agree, I wouldn't accept anything other than a brand new bike.

the bike really isn't in bad shape and I don't want a brand new one I just want this one fixed and the place I took it too told me they could hook it up with a nice Yosh full exhaust and the full fairings and a few other goodies for way less than replacing it with stock parts. The frame, swingarm and subframe are all untoched so I'm not worried about that.

Well, if you're ok with it. To me, it looks like the bike was run over by a truck when you look at the exhaust. I'd make sure that frame and subframe are absolutely straight.

My buddy had similar damage and the insurance co wanted to total it because the total to fix was a little more than half the value.
