Yup yup.... as the title states, she rolled over 200k earlier tonight without even so much as a hiccup, and still rolling right along and running like a dream!

I started looking through all my old pics and got all sappy, so I decided to do something a little different this time instead of the quick rollover video and a few pics. So I made a video, and started from the beginning and posted some pics from along the way of our travels, and then the video of it rolling over at the end. Music is a little cheesy, I know, but hey I had to add something in there, and plus it just seemed to kinda fit the theme pretty well, lol

And I'll put a few pics up anyways...

Being that it was getting dark, it made for getting pics 'at the scene' nearly impossible. This is about the only one that even somewhat turned out

Keeping with tradition, I had to get the shot at 19 miles, lol. First pics I took of the bike and odo were at 19, so I stopped and took one again at 19 after it turned 100k

Took a few more pics when I got home

Since those kinda suck too, here's a couple daytime pics from the day before

As for the bike... it's still running like an absolute dream! Still ridden daily, never gives me a lick of trouble. As long as she keeps running good, I'll keep riding her.... still curious as to just how far she'll go!

Haha yea I laughed a bit too, but honestly I couldn't think of one that fit the theme of the video any more perfect than that one. Good ol' Willie....

At how many miles did you rebuild the engine, if at all? Congratulations on the 200K mark. Thank you for crushing the misconception that sportbikes only last 10K.
No rebuilds...technically. I did have to replace a couple major parts, but that was due entirely to a lowside in which they were physically damaged, not from wear. At 177k I had to replace the case and the crankshaft due to the wreck, but used ALL the original internals. So it's still original pistons, piston rings, bearings, transmission, cyl head, etc. The old case when I took it apart at 177k, the cyl walls still had textbook perfect crosshatch

Damn dude. Ever thought of a new bike?
Why?? What's wrong with the one I've got??

I'll get a new one eventually, but it would be kinda pointless to take on another payment when I already have a perfectly good reliable bike that's already paid for. I don't like wasting my $$

Very cheesy. I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Jared. Congrats! Too bad I don't have a working bike or we could take another road trip and get you closer to 300k.
Thanks! Speaking of that...how's your bike situation coming along?? You find anything yet??

Ok, very impressive a couple quick questions. How did you rack up so many miles do you commute a long way to work? What do you do for regular maintenance anything special other than the 1,500 mile oil changes? I have a Honda 07' CBR 1000rr so I’m intrigued.
Thanks!
Daily commuting, lots of roadtrips, fun riding, etc.... just being consistent and riding everyday they add up quick. I have had a couple long commutes, back when I lived in Florida I did about 90 miles/day for about a year and 2 months, then I moved up to Georgia and it was down to 50 miles/day. Earlier this year I took a new job but couldn't move for 2 months, so for 2 months I was doing 120 miles/day, but now I'm down to 44 since I moved closer.

For maintenance.... oil gets changed like clockwork every 5000 miles, Mobil 1 10w-40 and a Purolator PureOne filter. Coolant/brake fluid/fork oil/etc all get changed minimum once a year, sometimes more if I'm bored, lol. Valve adjustments I've kinda extended the intervals since Hondas hold their valve clearances extremely well. I've only had to adjust them twice (41k and 100k), and only once they were actually out of spec (100k). So I just check them ever 30-40k or so... due to do it again here soon. Other than that, not really much else. Clean and lube the chain as close to every 500 miles as I can, or after every rain ride, brakes and tires when needed

that is fucking awesome! most cages don't see 200,000 miles! much less sportbikes!

if my SV makes it for 50k miles, I'll be happy. if I can keep it for 100k miles, I think I'll about have a heart attack. 200k would blow me mind.

Nicely done man. keep going. at this rate, I'll be waiting for the topic in 2015 about hitting 500k?
We'll see.... I hope to make it that far! hahah

You aren't the guy who started a thread completely rebuilding your motor with donor parts from another are you?
Either way very impressive.
I didn't really 'rebuild' the motor in a traditional sense.... I had to replace the case and crank due to the lowside that damaged them both, all other original parts were reused

That's impressive man, congrats! That's something to really be proud of! :dblthumb

Great job! I've seen a couple bikes with 200,000 miles, but not a sportbikes! You should print off a little number "2" sticker and put it infront of the odometer.

Oh and for everyone who is wondering how many miles a year - 33,333.3/yr or 91.3/day

i can see the ad in the paper now:

Next to New 2004 600F4i, only 19 miles on it, very well taken care of.

This is really inspiring stuff, I keep selling mine at some 15-20K(kilometers) odd.

Maybe once I get myself a good (read-powerful SportsBike) I shall keep raking in miles.

Touring on SportsBike has always fascinated me and you seem to do great by any standards, wishing you and the beautiful lady many more miles of happiness.

He didn't completely rebuild it. He broke 3 parts in his engine so he bought a cheap motor that had like 15k on it and used only the parts he broke on his. I think that was at 175k. There's a thread in the pictures section from a while back. I seem to recall his engine being in better shape at 175k than the 15k one was.

Thanks everyone for all the compliments and kind words!! :) It's definitely been fun.... can't wait to add a few more states to my list though, hehe. We'll see how far she goes!

Oh and I forgot to mention.... still rolling on the original factory clutch as well. Treat them right, they'll last!

You for sure gotta hit up WI, there's some decent roads if you know where to look. I can't say I reccommend you come up the ND way, there's nothing out here of interest, if anything just swing in, get a picture with the state sign then leave, haha.
