Hi,

I have a strange problem.

When the weather is hot about 25-30 degrees celsius, my bike vibrates alot more, than if it is 15 degrees.
I notice this when I drive to work in the morning, where there is little vibration, and then when I drive home it vibrates more, and the temperature is higher.
It happends from 6500-8500 rpm. which is from 130 to 160 km/h.
If I pull the clutch at these speeds the vibration goes away, if I drive slower but at the same rpm, the vibration is the same.

Last service they synced the throttle bodies, that did´nt help.
I have tried different maps in my powercommander, no big difference, right now I use the zero map to test.
There is a little less vibration, ehen using that map, but not much.
I am thinking of mounting the original exhaust to see if it could be that.

My bike has done 21500 km. It began to come this year, not last year, from around 15000km. No changes has been made this winter.

Any ideas ?

A simple explanation would be is that the thicker the oil the lesser vibration will be transmitted through. When engine oil gets thinner at higher temperature, it provides less dampening on motor vibrations. There will also be a change at which RPM the transmitted vibrations occur. As long as you use specified engine oil to your climate, it's normal.

Get it checked! This is off topic, but get it checked.

Mine vibrates more during hotter weather, no idea why.
Do you have powercommander on yours as well, and what exhaust do you have ?

im stock......
and im not saying its the bearing for sure
but after coming off the highway the bike needs more effort to move
like leaving the emergency brake on (which i know it doesnt have)
and the noise is coming from the front .......
do you guys have alot of tire noise at high speeds
i will have it looked at
oel-have you check your tire pressure

Get that looked at as soon as possible. The dealer may have messed something up during setup, like overfilling the front brake reservoir.

No powercommander but scorpions fitted, pretty sure it did it before the scorpions anyway. No extra effort in turning or noise from anywhere strage it just vibrates more in hotter weather. I guessed it was just down to the FI and the way it worked or didn't as the case may be.

hmmm interresting, since I also have scorpions installed.
With the zeromap on the powercommander, the vibrations are the least.

How many miles/km has your bike done ?

Mine is the same too, all stock, and hot days make the vibes almost unbearable.

Added gel grips, and added the liquid barsnake. Amazingly enough, neither seemed to help at all. I still get vibes in the bars so bad that if I rest my thumb on the turn signal switch, it goes numb. No death grip, trying to just rest my hands on the bars, but I swear it gets annoying. Always better in the morning too.

Weird thing is, once I hit 9k, the vibes are gone. its smooth as silk. Anything less, and the vibes take over. I was wondering if something other than the handlebars are torqued wrong (I checked those), and that might cause it.

Mine's the same. Dead stock, but in cold weather (like now) it's smooth and buttery, but on warm days you really notice more vibration. Can't pin it down to one specific cause, might be the frame expanding with heat and becoming 'looser' or something....

I won't lose sleep over it, as the vibration is part of the fun!

Hi,
check your chain adjustment.
Maybe your chain has suffered and the chain/sprocket comes to an status to
seek for replacement.

If it isn't, sorry that I mentioned it.
