Hi,

I'm looking for a used gsxr.
What years are good and what years to avoid?

If I could afford it i would get the 05.
My price range is 5k.

thanks.

What size gixxer? Assuming a 600, You should look for an '02 at 5K. Assuming it's in great shape that would be a price you could feel good about. You also wouldn't be ripped off getting a good '01 at that price.

Don't forget to budget @ $1K for gear if you don't already have it.

you should be able to find an 01-03 in that price range, I sold my 01 for $5k about two years ago.

Sorry to jump in here, but are there big or any differences between an 01 and 03 600? What year did they become fuel injected? I'm sort of in the same boat here and see a lot of 01's for more moulah than the 03's and wondered what the deal was.

Thanks a bunch.

The only difference, besides color, is overal width: '01 717mm and '03 715mm. Fuel injection first came on the '01 model.

Ok. Cool.

Dumb question now....what's wider, the frame? Does 2mm make that much difference?

The 2mm difference comes from a clip-ons being rotated forward 4.75 deg. They did this to re-shape the hose from the front brake master cylinder. There is no real ergo change as a result.

:popcorn thread revival. I'm also interested in differences from 01-05. Any major engine or suspension bits to sway me from one year or another?

Body styling changed from 01-03 to 04-05. Cosmetically you can really tell a difference.

GAWD! Ok, throttle bodies and obviously styling differences, but any major changes from '01-'05?????????????????
I'm talkin' nuts n' bolts, function over form. Not where they put the turn signals and reflectors BS!!! WTF is up with these model specific forums. Everybody here gotta post in the "general" forum to get noticed or what? 60K memebers and not more peeps have opinions on the Gixxer 600?

Easy there, tiger!
What do you want to know, exactly? '01-'03 are basically the same. '04-'05 are significantly updated.
'06 is all new. How specific do you want to get? 'Cause I'll get so specific I'll bore you to death if you want.

yeah I liked the reply that said the 600 felt cramped but the 750 would give him stretch room... Same size bike, no? anyway, it is sweet!
