Does anyone know if the Under Armour brand clothing is very effective for keeping you cool under leathers (the hot weather stuff). And will the cool weather stuff keep you warm if that's all you have under your leathers in the winter? If Under Armour is not a good choice, does anyone have other suggestions? I'd like to be able to extend my riding season further into winter, but don't like the bulkiness added by insulating layers, and I thought the hot weather stuff might help keep me cooler during those hot humid summer days in the mountains with full gear on. Comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've never tried any of the specific underwear for leather. REI makes long sleeve/long leg stuff in several different weights and neck height for hiking/backpacking at much more reasonable cost. I have 3 or 4 weights from minimum to fleece for different temperatures. The summer weight at least helps keep you drier under leathers. I use the long stuff even in summer so arms and legs don't stick when taking the leathers off. If it's really cold, I find a good windbreaker over my leathers (perforated) works better than heavy fleece under the leathers especially on long rides. YMMV

I have the hot weather underarmour shirt and boxers. Let me tell you, they work wonders *IF* you have a jacket/pants with good ventilation. That's what it does, it absorbs your sweat, and with airflow hitting it, the sweat evaporates off the shirt, keeping you cool and dry. It's the only thing I wear under my leathers racing.

Was it the hot weather Under Armour gear?

They make hot weather clothing and cold weather clothing. Hot weather absorbs/evaportates sweat, cold weather retains body heat. I can't vouch for the cold weather stuff, I don't have any.

The hot weather stuff is the absolute best. The less expensive knock-offs like they have at Target work great too, but are less durable by far.

the cold weather stuff works pretty well. i wear a cold weather shirt when my unit goes to the field, and it helps out a lot without adding excess bulk.

Yeah, it's hot weather. I like the feel an all, but it didn't work the way I thought it would.
You have to have VENTED GEAR for it to do it's magic. Trust me, all the MotoGP guys wear similar stuff, and they all find it works wonders.

I bought under armour and it was hot just standing around in it.
I wore it a couple of time sunder my mesh jacket, but a light cotton t-shirt was much better.
I couldn't disagree more. I wear it under a set of perf'ed leathers and feel smothered in anything else. Recommended highly. The knockoffs work well, but if you can find the real deal Under Armour for a little more, it's worth the extra.

Thanks for all the input. Now, where is the best place to find Under Armour clothing online? Preferably the cheapest and most reliable sites. I know they sell it at Galyans, which I have one near me, but stuff always costs too much at the mall. Thanks.

i found it at a local sporting good store academy, ebay wasn't really any cheaper.

if your gonna wear it under leather's get them so they're pretty tight, looks goof, but much easier to get on and off.

they make reg. size stuff as well.

Had to throw in my $.02. I use Under Armour to help with the heat and it works great. Also need to mention that I use the 'TurfGear' version of it (long sleeves and the leggings). The shortsleeves on the HeatGear will make you sweat in your gear on your arms. And it's so much EASIER to take off your gear.

I purchased it from SportMart. I'm pretty sure they do not have those in GA.

I found mine on Ebay for cheap. Just have to be patient.
