A motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured Thursday night after they collided with a pickup truck turning in front of them.

Paul McKinley, 41, of Dundee, was riding with a female passenger when 45-year-old Richard Danley's truck turned in front of them at Porter Drive and Canal Road about 8:30 p.m., said Polk County Sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Rodgers.

McKinley and his passenger, whom deputies were unable to identify late Thursday, were airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Rodgers said.

Danley, of Lake Wales, violated the motorcycle's right of way, Rodgers said.

"Danley, of Lake Wales, violated the motorcycle's right of way" I'm sure this is pretty typical for car accidents but when this scenario involves a bike, it's just nasty.
