On the Honda bikes that I've owned they all made this huge "clunk" when shifting from nuetral to first. On the 919 it's very pronounced, even shaking the whole bike at times. Is this bad for the syncros, because I tend to do it a lot; I hate holding the clutch in at long lights. Thanks!

Well, firstly, it is normal.

Secondly, neutral at stop lights isn't always a good idea. In fact, in most cases it's a bad one. By the time you hear the screetch of tires behind you, it's too late to shift into first and move out. Better to stay in first until you've got a large line of cars behind you to block.

Honda has a bit of a clunky cog box & even the Honda reps admit this. So do not fret for it is normal & will stay trouble free as an other cog box.

Cool, thanks, guys. Good advice too. I've already been rear-ended at a stoplight once, never saw him coming though.
