Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room talking about many things. The idea of a living will came up and I said to her,

"I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If I ever come to that just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and then threw out my beer.

..on a serious note though, a 'living will' is a good idea if you don't want to be kept alive if you're incapable of doing anything for yourself.

Not sure I'd trust your wife (j/k), but an advance directive and power of attorney are good to have in addition to a will or trust. Being able to determine ahead of time what happens "if" can really help.
