So far I've check out an 02 gsxr and an 01 TLR. Each time the fan seemed to always be on when the bike was turned on but not started. Is this a problem or are Suzukis just built that way?

Sounds suspect. You might want to check the thermostat, as it may be stuck.

The 02 gsxr 600 I checked had the temp up to 140. It did have me worried which added to one of the reasons to why I passed.

Thermostat has nothing to do with the radiator fan switch . If the temp isnt above 214(i believe) and the fan is on you have a bad switch . The switch in question is mounted on the radiator tank .
