Whenever I see a Sunoco gas station I like to put some 94 in there for the hell of it. I don't think it really does too much but its nice knowing it's in there. Well as I was pumping it I noticed that there is just one line for all of the gas. I usually put Exxon in it and there is a pump for each grade. Now if the person that got gas ahead of me put 87 in their cage wouldn't that gas still be in the line? So that means I would be getting all the gas left in the line and who knows how long it takes to finally start putting in the 94?!?! I may have just filled up my tank with 87 octane instead of 94.
Does anyone know how the pumps work and am I right that I may only get a half tank of the gas I wanted at stations with one pump for all the grades?
