ok, so im looking at ninja 500's... and i stumble across a post by Xarmyboi187 a little while back when he made his ninja into a street fighter... seen here http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337482

i don't like the single headlight of the ninja... and i didn't choose the suzuki gs500 because i didn't like the full fairing... so i was thinking perhaps a headlight conversion to a more street fighter look would work for me...

i could probably get a ninja 500 with a slightly beat up front fairing for less money and then i wont worry as much if i drop it... remember this is still my first bike...

so... i took some liberties and borrowed a pic that Xarmy posted (if there is any problem, let me know, i will remove them immediately) and did some photoshop magic and this is what i came up with

Option 1

Acerbis Diamond headlight

Option 2

Psycho Headlight from
http://www.streetfighterstore.com/acatalog/Headlights_agressive.html

Option 3

Bike Side B4 from
http://xpostreetfighter.com/detail.aspx?ID=39

let me know what you guys think...

i am leaning toward the Acerbis just because it seems to be an easier fit and install... but i like the B4 headlight the most... any input would be appreciated, thanks! :twofinger

damn that would be a problem, i would be traveling at night everyday... you think the DOT approved Acerbis would offer better lighting?

Not really...if you look closely, acerbis run your average garden variety house down lights...so people can see you, but you dont get the same light projection as more expensive models

you need something with the word 'projection' in the description...unfortunately like the more expensive ones...otherwise it'll just be a real strain on you.

hmmm, i don't want to risk not seeing hazards at night... any real way i can tell how well these things will work at night before i put them on there? like some type of bulb wattage or something? The projection thing is too iffy, since i see some descriptions stating "projection style"... which may mean they just look like it and offer no real benefit

o wow, that ones really nice! thanks for the link!

so these more expensive headlights... wouldn't come with anything but the headlight... so i would have to create everything from scratch? cuz im thinking about getting these for a gpz500 http://www.streetfighterstore.com/acatalog/headlight_brackets.html and working them to fit other headlights

You could do that, but the guys at Angry guy send you a full list of materials/parts that you need to complete the install. Prolly get the shit at home depot for alot cheaper!

I may do the Gas Mask one on my Duc! Kind of a whole "Industrial" Rammstein feel to the bike, Dunno yet.

Sorry but head light kits are for show and they cost -$$-A LOT-$$-

Dont waste your money. I suggest you go to walmart, buy your favorite fog lights, and figure out how to make it look good. Go to the nearest army store, or ebay, get a gas mask, and put the fog lights in the eye holes.

You can get this exact gas mask on ebay for $20^

There are a very few fighter lights where they can see you AND you can see them.

You could buy r6/r1 lights and fabricate something. They look good no matter what you do.

Ya I'd do a stock headlight from something else and make it fit yours. I found a 04 gixxer 750 headlight that was in nearly perfect condition on ebay for like 30 bucks, then I made it fit my clamp set-up.

Here is a pic before paint.

DC original is selling v-rod headlights that looks really nice imo for a good price and they come with bulbs.
