Stolen goods scattered on Bonita Beach Road after a motorcycle crash led to the arrest of the driver Thursday.
According to reports, deputies were dispatched to the area of 5900 Bonita Beach Road in reference to a motorcycle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, deputies found a black Harley Davidson lying on the road.
The driver, 36-year-old Damon Michael Miljour, had obvious injuries and medical assistance was summoned to the scene.
He was taken Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Deputies noticed several items scattered on the roadway at the scene of the crash, including sunglasses, wrist watches and footwear. The items appeared to be new and had retail sale tags attached that said "Mango Bay."
Due to the large amount of merchandise, deputies checked out Mango Bay Surf Shop at 3540 Bonita Beach Road.
Deputies discovered that the side window of shop was smashed out. A safety sweep determined many items were out of place inside the shop.
Deputies then contacted the shop's district manager, who confirmed the items belonged to the shop. The recovered property was returned.
The approximate value of stolen goods was $10,000.
Detectives met with Miljour at the hospital, who claimed he didn't remember anything before waking up in the hospital.
Miljour was arrested on charges of burglary, DUI, and grand theft.
