Discussion Starter #1
I recently bought a 1982 Honda CB900c and just replaced the starter solenoid in it but when I go to start it, the starter clicks once and the headlight turns off. Spark plugs are all clean and there is a brand new battery in it. I'm not sure what the problem is. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Corroded battery cables. Check/clean both ends of both cables. If that doesn't do it, you may have corrosion deep inside the plastic coating of one or the other. This would not be surprising with a bike that old. Be aware, corroded cables may well check just fine with an Ohmmeter, which is a low current check. You may have to use some kind of jumper cable to test.
