I recently purchased a new chain and sprockets for my bike along with a speedo healer. I am somewhat mechanically and electronically inclined, but completely new to the world of bikes. Are these two things I'd be able to figure out myself? I have a Haynes manual as a guide.

Haven't really looked at the install instructions for each yet.

Thanks

The hardest part of all that is connecting the link on the new chain. It isn't obvious and the consequences of doing it wrong could be severe - chain flying off through your leg or engine case on the highway. This type of repair is one where you would be better off getting help from someone who knows how to do it and has the proper chain tool. Brakes are another area of concern for a n00b wrench. That Haynes manual may be lacking in proper detail in areas like this.
