I see chain and sprockets, FE, Ohlins, not sure what brand the slip ons are, and modified rear turn signals? (and rear hugger removed.) Your foot pegs are not OEM, either.....

Looks good; I really like where the rear turn signals are now.

How do you like the shock????

Is it me or is that rear axle really far back for a new chain? Is that a clip type master link?

Does your shock reservoir clear the rear wheel at full compression? I had problems with clearance on mine...and mine is more out of the way than yours.

wavex: that's about as clean as it gets. It's my daily ride to work, so I pretty much gave up keeping it spotless.

Defy: the shock is simply awesome. The forks were already Racetech modded but the rear complements them so well. I wish I hadn't waited so long, but the price for the Ohlins unit put me off. Turns out it's worth it.

Yes you're right the axle is too far back. I ordered the chain and sprocket replacement kit for the FZ6 from Supersprox but made the mistake of not double-checking the new chain before I removed the old and put on the new (rivet type); it's properly adjusted where it is but have no more room to tighten further, so will need to remove a link.

My Ohlins was installed with the remote resivoir hanging directly down from the tail seciton rail, rather than being tucked under the tail section. Shouldn't ever get anywhere near the rear wheel in that position......

If you're not very careful with the "directly down" placement it will hit the hugger and push the hugger against the tire at full stroke. Jeep's placement might actually be the best but I don't have the bike in front of me.

I see a filthy bike :D
that's what your bike looks like if you own if for more than a month before totaling it and buying another. :twofinger

hate to be a pain, but would be able to recall the model on your shock? I see there are many weights too..and i have no idea how they actually correspond with the bike or weight of the rider (if it even does)
I don't recall the part number on the spring but it's set for #160lb rider. I can go out later and check if you want the exact number. Also, if your spring is incorrect, you can send it back to Ohlins at any time and they will change the spring for free, you just need to pay shipping.

Just messing with you. :banana
I see pictures of how clean yours is and then look out the window at mine and it makes me want to cry. :twofinger

I was looking around for a good spot and ended up just securing it directly to the plastic tool kit holder. There is a rounded part of the molded plastic that the reservoir seems to fit perfectly into, like it was designed to go there. I just eyeballed the clearance but am thinking I will now actually measure to make sure it can't touch, but the rear wheel would basically have to be compressed so far as to hit the bottom of the seat. I like where it is, it's out of the way but still easy to reach in and make adjustments. I can get some more pictures if anyone is interested in seeing.

Amen brother. I sometimes swipe my gas tank and fairing with a wet rag, but at 60 miles a day 5 days a week, it's a losing battle I just stopped fighting. I'll scrub it sometime before winter.
the paints and finishes are there, to protect the metal..... if they are doing their job, I don't need to futz with polishing. Once every few months, it gets a proper detailed bath...... no more often than an oil change......
