I know at one point there was a quick post thing that was on the main page of sporbikes.net here. I was wondering if we could hook that up on here. I'm literally on this page everyday and it would be sweet to have a little area for us FZ6ers to kinda just chat it up. I mean it looks like there is over 10 people at any given time. If good conversations comes up, we can toss it up on the board too for eveyone to hook up some answers. Well, it's just a suggestion, I'm just bored out of my mind at work here...I hate having to work weekends...

We could always do the old school style IRC chat.

But agreed, a chat room via the board would be cool.

Good Idea. I am on this board all day. I am almost Obsesive Compulsive about it being open in a window in a certain spot.
A chat board wouldnt exactly increase my productivity at work... oh well. F'em. :flipa

There is one major downfall with chat rooms.

Say for instance you find a FZ6 owner and talk about a certian item for your bike.. and maybe you had trouble installing it but the other person didnt and found a work around.

Well that person has helped you answer the problem. However now others cannot get the answer to that problem unless they ask in the forum or continue to search around thw web trying to find the answer.

Basically it doesnt archive important information. that is the only reason why i dont like chat clients .

However.

That doesnt mean I wont run one. We have a flashchat client that is half installed and should be completed soon. As you see its called SBN Chat. I can make any rooms we like in there however if its just basic chit chat its nice to just have a lobby

Good point on the documentation. I have never even used the one in the lobby cause I just go straight here. :headbang

I have had a few conversations on chat rooms before but didn't like the one and two word replys there so I stopped going. Maybe the intelligence level would be higher here.
