... but the fun part is how another friend of mine who doesn't even has a license is also riding it from time to time. He logged about 300-400 miles in the past couple of months and apparently he got the chance to take a 600cc bike for a spin a couple of weeks ago. He is now telling people how 600cc bikes are girlie gutless bikes.

Oh and the actual owner of the R1 is inviting me to go for rides on the highway or in downtown Boston with his buds. After telling him that I don't enjoy "riding" in the city he proceeded to enlighten me that you don't always need to go for long rides. You can just ride 5-6 miles, park the bike in front of some coffee place and have a coffee for 3-4 hours. Then ride another 5-6 miles on your way back.

Allow me to LOL with you :)

Oh and yes, I've tried to steer them both in the right direction but it didn't work.

Well it seems that unlike my buds, you're a slow learner :lao

I actually thought to an answer to my own question as well. Sadly, it doesn't apply because we aren't in Amsterdam...
Amsterdam FTW!

Different strokes for different folks. Let them have their fun, go have yours, what the fuck does it hurt you?

man just be able to walk on both sides of this sportbike world....makes for a more diverse person if you ask me.

You not doing what they like is just the same as them not doing what you like.

I mean I'm right there with you. I can't fathom it how a nice long spirited ride that hold endless curves competes with the ride to hang out mode...but I do know how to flip the modes. LoL, I ride in leather EVERYWHERE...and one day I went to Starbucks in basketball shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt. EVERYONE WAS FUCKING SHOCKED....but I have to admit it was quite exhilariting or how ever you spell exhilurating...lol. Won't do it again...just sayin I experienced the tip of what they enjoy daily or every weekend.

By steering them in the right direction I meant to try and convince person A to get a smaller bike and person B to at least get his license and buy some gear (he by the way was thinking of using his snowboard gear ...). I never tried to convince them to come on a 600mile day with me as I knew they would be up for it but they would want to come back after the first 100 miles (not to mention that I don't want them pulling some dumb shit to show off and eating it and possibly taking me down with them).

I couldn't give 2 shits where they ride. They do their thing, I do mine and that's why we never ride together.

I just find that whole poser shit and thinking that a 600cc bike is a toy after spending 400 miles on an R1 really childish and hilarious and thought I'd share - that's all :)

Are you trying to create an argument out of thin air? Cos if so, you're failing miserably.

Does your friend live in florida? Just last week i talked a kid into a 2009 R1. He actually had come in for a R6 but i put him on the R1 because it had a much b***** commission on it. Hopefully the dumbass will manage to keep it up for awhile before he eventually wrecks bad.
