And here she is:

YouTube - In HD R1 2008 candy apple red walk around

I'm Very pleased with this bike.
Rides great, very fast, stable through corners (may try a 180 tire to make it flick quicker) east to torque it through town and cruise...

Plus I love the lines and almost every detail about it...Might go with a r6 tail in the future though, the stock one is a bit too wide and IMO interrupts the the proportions.

Got a great deal on her also- sticker was 11,400 I got it out the door for that price- but with the $1,400 5 year yamaha extended YES service warrenty.
(Anything brakes it's fixed free)

"I rode a few three wheelers, and did a weekend trip at my buddies on a dirtbike track. But I've driven a few sports cars so I'm definitely responsible and respectful of horsepower...."

notice how he continually stress in the post and video that the bike is VERY fast. No shit. it's an R1...a liter bike. They are all fast. Generally a rider isn't going to continually be estranged to speed if they've been riding motorcycles or seasoned. They will have more to talk about other than it's just fast..i.e. power delivery, power band, braking power, cornering/stability, and suspension....everyone alreadys knows you do all of that fast.

Just my initial summation of the post. Could be way off, but I'm gambling that I'm dead on and hopefully the rider won't be in a few weeks or months.

BIKE IS SICK BTW.

with that torque, i would suggest sticking with the 190 rear.

Thanks but that's not me:

haha. So ya, you're way off as you said.
I've been on motorcycles since I was a kid riding pw50's. Done 25,000+ street miles, so I'm well aware of the risks. Also I've moved up from the lease powerful to the R1 in a linear fashion- not some rookie who jumped on a open class bike with no prior experience.

Saw it happen in my town when I was on my first street bike (the little xs400)
I was riding about a few hundred feet behind a guy on a new sportbike.
Car came out he tried to swerve and brake at once...ended up dying on the spot.

Newspaper article came out a few days later saying he had just driven it off the dealer's lot.

Bummer.

Thanks for your concern though.

You're good in my book. We just bust balls here. That's what we do. lol....wish I was in Cali to enjoy nicer weather. I'm out here in 50's now. Soon to be 40's.

The only thing about cold weather riding is that when you get inside, I become SLEEPY as shit. Cold makes me sleepy.... not a good mix when I'm trying to work.
