My head circumference is 59 cm. I have a shark rsi size large and it feels loose after only 12 months of use. Can i squeeze my fat head in a medium rsr2?

Anyone have the rsr2 and actually know how big your head is? I have an oval head and the back is more round than the front. Probably close to an egg shape.

i have a large in both rsi and rs2r

the rs2r is alot tighter fitting

if the rsi is just a little bit big then the rs2r should fit fine.

u could always get b***** check pads
Thanks, that helps a lot. My head is at the low side of their large scale. I could always order a medium and exchange it if necessary, but that's a hassle.

The rsi moves to much when riding, especially at speeds above 70mph. I have a big head and thin face and the cheek pads in the rsi aren't big enough. They don't make other sizes for the rsi though.

I must be one ugly mutha, not sure why my wife married me.:)

I just checked the rsi and I can't get my fingers in between the lining and my forhead. I'm pretty sure a medium will crush my freaking skull. If I could get larger cheek pads for it, then it would probably be a perfect fit. The cheek pads touch my cheeks, but they are not putting much pressure on them.

hmm i'd lean towards a large. as already noted, the RSR2 and RSX fit tighter than an RSI of the same size. i have an RSI and RSX both in medium. the RSI is a bit loose, not to the point of moving around due to the wind, but i like my helmets tight. the RSX fits me perfectly now that it's broken in a bit

(Assuming you don't have fat fingers)
Put the helmet on. Place your hand on the back of the helmet and firmly push forward while holding your head still. Take your "pinky finger" (because it is the thinnest) on the other hand and try to insert it between the helmet and your head.
If you can you got the wrong size. If you can't you probably need a different helmet. One more fitted to your head shape.

I can get the first part of my pinky in, but that's it and no I don't have fat fingers. I'm a toothpick.

I will update this post in about 5 days with my results. I think it's going to be a little tight. Hopefully the plusher liner of the rsr2 will make it bearable. That's assuming motorcyclecloseouts actually has it in a medium.

Well i assumed it would ship Monday, tuesday at the latest, but apparently they don't keep these things in stock because I have not heard anything since Saturday. I'll give them till Friday and then cancel the order. Anyone order from Motomummy.com? They have the same price.

you and i are probably the same size.

dont worry even the large will be tight at first

probably almost too tight a feeling right away

u will get used to it though. break it in alittle and it will fit great.

the rs2r feels much more secure.

Wow! Medium was freaking small! I could get it on, but I literally had to hammer it on my head and my head was throbbing after only 5 minutes. Sent it back and ordered a large duhamel black and gold.
LOL I know!

they seem to run a size small.
I wear small on most, and my friend bought the rsr2 duhammel orange dragon.

it felt the same as you said, crushed my head like it was in a vice, head started to hurt after only 3 minutes.

post your results when you get the b***** one. I still like this lid a lot, mainly because of the awesome thick visor, but maybe my head just wont fit.

i have a strange shaped head, i'll look like a freak bald, lol.

I got the large and it fits fine, but I think I prefer the rsi. I need to find a rsi in a medium, I bet I could wear a medium in that helmet. These two helmets seem to have a different shape. The rsr 2 puts more pressure on my forehead and seems to leave more of a gap at the temples. I even like the cheek pads better in the rsi. I wish they offered the duhamel in the rsi because I love the graphics.

According to the back of the helmet, my rsi is 50g lighter.

Even the shield release works better on the rsi. Correction, the mirror shield isn't releasing well because one of the little clips broke that hold on the silver rings. Why did shark decide to put these on the shield on the rsr2, but they are on the helmet with the rsi.

I'll post some pics of both, give me a second.

Notice the silver rings where the visor attaches. The rsi has them attached to the helmet, the rsr2 has them attached to the outside of the visor, weird.

Can someone with a mirror shield tell me what the clear plastic rings are that come with it? I emailed shark about the broken clip for the visor ring, hopefully they can just mail me one.

get b***** check pads for your rsi and it will fit better

med will still probably be a tight fit
I wasn't aware until just recently that they sold seperate cheek pads for the rsi line. I think I need b***** cheek pads for both helmets. It would be cheaper to gain weight, but quicker to get the pads. I think the med rsi will be much easier to get over my head. Even the large rsr2 folds my ears over, not sure how I even got the medium on.

Does anyone know if cycle gear carrys cheek pads?

Rode to work and back with the rsr2. I like how quiet it is and it is more stable when doing a head check at 70mph. plus it looks freaking cool.
