Champion Gamma / RZ500 owners

The pic of Kenny Roberts was taken in GA. The bike belongs to a guy that had KR over as a house guest. Eddie Lawson owns an RZ500 since new. He appeared in some of the ads for the bike's release.

Anyone know if any of the "greats" own an RG500 in their collection.

U mean an RGV 500, an RG 500 can found on Craigs list in Canada, ehhh (wink)

I am sure mr LAWSON and Mr Roberts have at least one of their YSR 500's if not more, I dont think either of the aformentioned riders have any interest in owning a Suzuki that they used to battle against, remember that both of them had more battles with the NSR400 and then the NSR 500s. The 4 cylinder Suzuki came along during the end of lawsons career, yes Suzuki had it developed but it was not a competitive product, in fact Kevin made it competitive cause he rode it past the point of its ability. Wayne Gardner rode them to checkered flag on many occasions past both of them. The NSR and YSRs were much more competitive, in fact the Cagiva was more reliable than the first generation RGVs.

Jay's Walter

I don't know if any of the "greats" owns an RG or Rz500, but Jay Leno definitely owns a Walter Wolf 500.
Actually, the Walter Wolf RG500 in Big Dog Garage belongs to the chief mechanic there and is not part of Jay's personal collection. Having seen the BDG in its entirety I don't think that the RG would hold too much interest for Mr. Leno. He has a phenomenal array of the finest and most historically significant machines ever built. He is not lacking in any way with fascinating motorcycles. When I was there he rolled out a recently acquired Scott Flying Squirrel Quick Ride: 1927 Scott Flying Squirrel

This was a pristine example of water cooled 500 cc 2stroke coolness from the '30's. Great bike!
