Sears sells sockets for this purpose; I believe it's called Bolt-Out. Heard it works well.

Edit: This is for when the head or the nut is stripped. If you fucked up the threads I don't think it will do much for you.

Plastic ones I'd drill out or use vise grips.

A good pair of vise-grips?

There's a product called an EZ-out for removing broken bolts, it's like a backwards drill bit with more of a spline than a cutting surface. You drill the broken off bolt/screw with the indicated size drill bit, then use the EZ-out and it'll bite into the remaining material and unscrew it. I've used 1/2" down to a #4 size, so they're available in a wide range.

Yeah, the bolt head, not the thread.

Thanks for the tips guys. the plastic ones shouldn't be too hard to get out...I'll try some pliers/long nose/vice grips first, then I'll get that ez-out if all else fails.
