A few questions that are completely random, just something I was thinking about riding around. Every bike I've seen either has dual exhaust, or a single exhaust. Every single exhaust comes out the right side, instead of the left. Why is this? Obviously it doesn't seem like there would be a reason, since some bikes also have pipes coming out that side. Is it just something the companies decided, and went with?

Also, if frame sliders are the FIRST mod anyone should do, and they so great...why don't they come on bikes stock? So when you wreck, you can buy a new bike?

Maybe we can get a decent thread started about stupid questions like these and get more informed about useless bike trivia.

1. It's easier to run a single exhaust on the right because there is no chain in the way over there.

2. I've heard of frame sliders tweaking your frame on impact. If you buy a brand new bike and lay it down, the insurance would probably rather have to pay for new plastics than total the bike. Not sure on that one.

you're not cynical enough. manufacturers would never put a frame slider on the bike because they want to sell you expensive plastic panels and radiators when you drop it.

The Buell CityX has factory frame sliders of sorts, though they are more just plastic pucks on the frame/tank

Why isn't my 600 turbo'd already? why do i have this insane urge to swap every single peice out on the bike for something better, even though there is nothing wrong with what i have on there? Why don't fat kids fit on sportbikes better? Why cant they just hook the rear tire directly to the output shaft on the transmission and get rid of driveline lash entirely? why cant parts for these be cheaper?
