Thinking about doing some track days and want to know where all the tracks are in Wisconsin. I know there is Elkhart Lake but dont know of anymore. Does anyone know when the schedules are for track days in Elkhart?

There is a guy named Rob out there with a yellow superhawk that thinks every town in Wisconsin has a racetrack. He races in the Ducati Cup on his two F3's at quite a few of them. Rob is a moron...

Blackhawk Farms isn't really in Wisconsin - but it's RIGHT on the border just west of Beloit (I consider this my home track). Autobahn Country Club should be opening on the southwest side of Chicago sometime this fall. Putnam is about an hour northeast of Indianapolis. Gingerman and Gratan are over in Michigan, directly accross the lake from Racine and Milwaukee respectively, about 4 hours away.

Check www.nesba.com and www.sportbiketracktime.com for schedules. STT will be up at RA Aug 10 and 11th - I'll be there on the 11th.

DO THE TRACK DAY - it's the most fun I've had while dressed (and I've raced a lot of things...).

I read on other boards that Autobahn will not be opening this year.

Jake - your information probably prempts mine...

thrdrcr - I don't race (yet), I'm just a track day junkie (almost a dozen already this year). I'm looking for maximum track time for my $$ - and the track day orginizations seem to be it. I've been thinking of buying an SV and start racing CCS Novice, though... where would a 1:23.8 at Blackhawk Farms put me?

If you do travel to track days (NESBA, STT) I'm always up for a travel partner.

Cheers,

On a stock sv a 1:23 would put you 8 seconds behind me :lol Just kidding. It would put you in the light weight class of amatures( There is no novice just expert and amature) up in the top 7. Iam racing out there at the end of the month. Take the learning curve school on saturday and race on sunday. Plenty like you out there will be racing. It is not as bad as people make it sound or maybe just come out and check it out. What do you race now? Do you know an instructor by the name of Andy Fuestellar? He is number 91.

My "Track Bike" is an Aprilia Mille R - quite a bit faster, I know, but loads of fun. I figure I'd learn a lot faster on an SV or something like that - but for now I'm in it for having a good time!

I don't have any intention of racing the Aprilia (too much too soon!) - but perhaps I'll take a LCR school on it to get liscenced... Perhaps I'll check out a CCS race at BHF - I've only seen one @ RA.

Cheers,

Todd

Well - I'll be on an Aprilia RSVR in Black Joe Rocket leathers. I have a Silver Mazda Tribute tow vehicle and a yard waste trailer. I'll be pitting with a guy on a CBR 954RR and an older Ducati 900 SS.

Shall we meet up for a session? I'll be in Intermediate...

Cheers,

Todd

Iam offering help to any of you taking track days...Suspension set up by far is the most important part of your track day, Then comes Front brake pads and tire pressure. Having the correct set up will make you faster and your day much more enjoyable.

I am working at Road America the next few days. I took my cage today, but I was amazed at the number of street cars and bikes that just randomly took to the track during open inspections. I am taking my bike for the rest of the week, and determined to sneak on for a lap or two (not at full speed though, you can only do inspections at 30 or less.) Still should be fun. My first track day, and it will be free.

I tried to set the correct amount of sag on my bike like you said. Definitly can feel the bike moving more now which takes a little getting used to, but it does feel more planted in the corners. It would be great sometime if you could help me to fine tune it now. Thanks!
