Puma 1000 v2 Boots - Street Bike - Motorcycle Superstore

anyone have any experience with these??

Puma Super Ride Boots - Street Bike - Motorcycle Superstore

or these? I think the 1000V2 are a little more protective, hence the price difference but I don't now.

I am also interested in Sidi boots, they seem to be the benchmark for good boots.

I have a pair of A* SMX-4 boots now that are nice but getting a little used since I where them almost every time I ride. Any other boot suggestions? THANKS GUYS!!!

Here's my 2cents.

Two years ago I bought a pair of riding boots kind of like the first ones you posted (but not that pair). They were decent, and at the time I thought they were great.

This year, I got myself a pair of Sidi Vertigo Corsas. I will never, ever, buy another kind of boot. I can not find a flaw in these boots, honestly.

My point is .. .if $ is not an issue, make sure you try a pair of Sidi's before you spend the cash on something else. You might save yourself the trouble of waiting a year or two to get a great boot.

I love my pumas to death. Can't see myself wanting anything else anytime soon. Did not like the Sidi quite as much. Pumas have better protection and looks IMO.

I got the black and gold 1000's btw. PUMA 1000 Motorcycle Boots BLACK/COPPER

+1 to the Sidi Vertigo Corsa. I picked up the Air version on closeout about a month ago due to them being on the shelf right next to the new Vortice. Probably will add either the A* SMX-Plus or Puma 1000v2 to them, but for my first boots, I love 'em and I don't even have a bike yet, lol.

I probably should add I love to wear puma sneakers too. I just love the way they fit. So take my opinion for what its worth.

I only buy puma shoes, ha ha so I'm pretty biased. I guess I'm just gonna have to find a place where I can try them both on. Thanks for all of the input!!!!

I've got a pair of Sidi Vertigo's and let me chime in as well to say that they are VERY comfortable.

Beyond that there is no question about the safety/quality of Sidi in the industry.

Regardless get a boot that is comfortable on your feet first. Good protection is useless if you don't wear it.

I've heard mixed things about the Puma's. For the reputation and the easy to find replacement parts, I'd go with Sidi's.
I've got a pair of Corsa's and they're great boots. However, my next pair will be something such as the A*'s Supertechs. I find all of the external bullshit to be completely useless and something to keep you from riding if you go down and break a hinge.

I wanted a high quality boot that looked like regular boots, so I got the Sidi B-2 and LOVE them! VERY comfortable for extended use.

Sidi absolutely. I owned a pair of Puma Desmos - the model beneath the 1000 - and the zippers on each boot failed after one year of ownership. That's inexcusable. Puma didn't want to cover it but, thankfully, the dealer I purchased them from took care of me.

I have both. They are good boots. The sidis are easier to get on and off so I use them for street riding and the pumas for the track. Pumas are more comfy and more protection but a pain to get on and off. The sidis sole wore out after 1 season at the track so I wouldn't recommend them for track use over the pumas.

I'm almost certain that I'm going with TCX Competizione RS for next season but I'm still considering Axial Race as well. Those Pumas look like they will bake your feet in the summer
