:lol While looking for something else I stumbled on to a video I saw a while ago by Top Gear in UK. They buy a beater Toyota truck and try to kill it. They do all sorts of shit to it and it keeps going LOL :alky

I'll vouch for Toyota's myself. I got one of the first 4x4 Pickups they brought to the US in early 79. Drove it into the ground and back putting almost 400,000 miles on the thing in 10 years of owning it. It was easily the most reliable vehicle I ever owned.
I rolled it off the side of a mountain and it was driveable even though it went end over end twice and over sideways 3 more times till it stopped at the bottom... I kicked the windshield out and drove it 70+ miles to get it home! I had to replace the cab but it still drove just like it did from day one.
I traded it in on my Z-71 Chevy which is a lot nicer to drive but can't come close to the Toyota in out right durability...

every old toyota truck i've known or seen always seems to have the bed rusting out reaaaaal bad.

:lol Ya ain't shittin on that point. The body is made of Pre-Rusted steel I think.... only certain aeras though. My cab wasn't too bad til it went down the mountain, the bed was another thing altougether. It was wasted... the sides had holes in it from all the saltwater and abuse it took. Several times it went in the ocean launching a boat I had with a high trailer. Only way to get the boat off was to back it way down the ramp...

The yellow was original color still fairly new. Then it rusted and I got the black out... then it went off the mountain LOL. I also managed to win the mini truck class in the sand drags in it :D

Hahahahaha, mine too. In that sand drag after I won I asked the flagger if he could let me know if it was clear to wave me on back...
He gave me the flag to come back and I came back down the beach at about 60 dropped into the pit from everyone taking off and literally took off... the starter said I could have cleared a container truck easily.. Those are the 40 foot shipping containers that they put on the cargo ships... LOL
I landed on the front hitting so hard the frame flexed enough to let the shock pins punch little square holes in the inner fender wells! (normally theres a 4 inch space between the 2) It bounced 3 times! 1st went about 6-8 feet up, 2nd about 3, 3rd maybe a foot.... about 5,000 people were there watching it, they went nuts when I did that little trick!

What happend after was totally nuts.....
all the drunks in there pipe buggies get into a insane jumping contest... a few flipped end over end from landing vertically on the front end....
Then some guy in the military tries it in a giant 4 door Ford F-350 crew cab and snapped the flexi front axel in half.... that pretty well ended the fun.
Getting that monstrosity outta the soft sand took a bunch of the 4x4's all pulling it at once.... LOL :D :D :D

LOL I still am. Toys are tough but chevy makes RAW POWER in a package that is as comfortable as the nicest luxury car. You'll never hear a bad word come outta this mouth regarding either brand.

Aww, that was great. We used to call out Toy the Might Yoda, we put that truck through everything. Hehe, even ran it into my Mom's house. Yes, it caught fire in the inside too from the CB hook up that was in there. That truck I'm sure is still on the road somewhere.

LOL I see my old Toy from time to time too.. She's still out there tearin stuff up :D
