I have a canon zr60 digital camcorder, this thing is great. Recently I purchased a tank mount for my bike so I can put the camera on it and videotape some rides I go on. Unfortunatly I have been unable however to connect it to my computer. The camera uses a DV cable to connect to the computer. My computer has 1 IEEE1394 port in front, and 2 in the back. According to the device manager, the ones in back are working correctly. My camera also detects the cable being plugged into it. I have all software installed that came with the camera. What sucks though, is that my computer never detects anything actually being plugged into it. Plug and play works for everything else, my USB digital camera, pretty anything else I plug in the computer will autodetect. I have Win XP, anyone know what the problem could be?

Best bet is to do a complete Windows Update, sometimes there's updates to drivers that you probably don't yet have. Run it a few times to make sure it's completely up to date.
