i bet they go down a bit, then go up a bit as stock starts getting harder to find, and then go back to normal (either that or slightly below how they've been)

i can't imagine it'll be major leaps and bounds in either direction though

Most of the dealers never wanted to sell them anyway, and they are fire-saling them; prices are rock bottom. I've heard a few sources talking about $6-7K for a new bike.

Now going back to that same dealer for service on a bike they never wanted to deal with would be another story. But if you like the bikes, this is the best time ever to pick one up.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!

That HAS to bring tears to Eric Buells eyes. All the work he put into that bike and it's now only worth $5000. Damn...

Almost want to go out and buy a XB12R Firebolt... Damn sexy looking bike.

Someone already bought that one for 5 grand, but an HD dealer in Florida has new 1125CRs discounted for only $5999. Check badweatherbikers.

Resale value was already terrible for Buell, but it just went off a cliff.

You know, it sucks for anyone who bought a Buell with-in the last month. Or even week, those people who bought one a week ago. Must be VERY MAD!
I was on a ride day at the local HD dealership Oct 3rd. Almost bought a used xb9sx for 4800... glad I decided to wait.

Damn - too bad I can't handle the ergos.

I wonder about the price of MV's?
I don't see that changing much, since Harley never did anything with/to them. The dealers that sold MVs before Harley bought it still do, and probably still will under whoever owns it next. It's a pretty self-contained package that can and will be picked up by someone. It's got its own production facilities, it's own engine, its own dealer network, etc.

Buell, OTOH, I don't really see anyone buying.
a) The motivating guy at Buell was still Erik Buell, and the company isn't worth much if he doesn't go with, and he's saying things about helping engineer Harley's main line.
b) Even if the company and the man went as a package, most of the models still have Harley-made engines, so the new owners would still have to have links to and be at the mercy of Harley, unless they dumped all of those and started with *only* the 1125 models in their range.
c) The manufacturing sites would also have to be purchased from Harley; did Buell have entirely separate buildings and lines, or did they share some of that with Harley?
d) And the new owner of Buell would have to start a dealer network from ZERO.
