So there I am coming back from Payson, AZ (approx. 5,600 ft., 85 degrees F.) to Phoenix (1,500 ft. MSL, 105 deg.) A guy in a cage is nice enough to play radar reflector for me @ about 120 indicated so I happily tag along. After about ten minutes or so the bike starts showing symptoms of fuel starvation; drastic loss of power, not sputtering or anything, just holding 65 MPH @ full throttle. I back out of it thinking I may be getting vapor lock or the tank isn't venting. Things go back to normal so I bump back up to 80 MPH indicated. Ten minutes of this and it starts to die again. Almost completely dies but heals back up and on we go. This pretty much kept repeating the rest of the way home.

Bike has 11,000 miles. Regular maintenance is current.

Suggestions?

I got bad gas once, and mine did as you described. I'd drain the tank and put in fresh. Check the fuel filter too, and maybe run some Seafoam in the next tank of gas. Could check/replace the plugs too if you have not already.

Look in the fuel injector cleaner section of WalMart. It comes in a cylindrical metal can with the name Seafoam on the label. Motor Treatment - Sea Foam
