Anyone's plans for next season starting to come together? I'm wondering if I'm gonna meet any sportbike.net members at the track next year. I think I caught fleeting glimpses of a member or two this year, but no solid meetings :(

Anyway, I've got some big plans on the drawing board.... Can't wait.

So far I consider myself pretty much locked in on racing the Loudon Road Racing Series and instructing for Tony's Track days.
Not sure exactly which events I'll be doing, but here's the schedules for those orgs... If you're there, chances are I am too.

2010 LRRS Schedule:
April 24-25
May 15-16
May 29-30
June 11-13 Classic with ASRA
July 17-18
August 7-8
September 4-5
October 2-3

2010 Tony's Track Days Schedule (So far)
May 2,3 (Thunderbolt NJMP) Sun / Mon
May 12 (NHMS) Wednesday
June 15,16 (NH) Tue / Wed
June 27,28 (NJ) Sun / Mon
July 19,20 (NH) Mon / Tue
Aug 9,10 (NH) Mon / Tue
Aug 30,31 (NJ) Mon / Tue
Sept 19,20 (NJ) Sun / Mon (tentative)
Oct 5, 6 (NH) Tue / Wed

I'm also hoping to do some ASRA racing as well if things work out with sponsorship... maybe some ASRA Team Challenges along with my ECK Racing teammates.

I was also approached last night about the possibility of teaming up with a couple of guys outside of ECK Racing to do the 8 Hours of Daytona race at the end of the year.

So yeah... Anyone gonna be joining me at any of those events?

Even if you're not, what are your plans for next year?

I miss riding the track. My local track closed in april '06 and I lost my interest in riding ever since. I'm planning to move to the mainland, probably vegas, arizona or washington state. One of the reasons I wanna move is because I miss racing my bike and cage!!

The CCS/ASRA Race Of Champions (ROC) at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) during Biketoberfest is an experience, lots of racers from all over the country coming to the track, and more motorcycles than you've probably ever seen out on the streets (unless you've been to Bike Week or Sturgis). I always look forward to going racing at DIS.

The 'experience' isn't because DIS is an overly challenging track, it's because the track is unlike anything most people have raced on and the atmosphere at the ROC is generally really good. For a few years CCS/ASRA changed track configurations between the Spring and Fall events, the Spring event used the 'AMA Course' and the Fall event used the 'Traditional Course'. Now it looks as though CCS/ASRA has gone back to only using the 'Traditional Course' for both events - it's easy to understand why, the 'AMA Course' crosses the access road to the Semi tunnel, that means you have to have security guards at the cross-over point for the entire event and traffic can only cross between races (which can cause delays in an already packed schedule). For the '8 Hours' I would imagine the 'Traditional Course' would be more appealing anyways because it's not as difficult/tiring as the 'AMA Course'.

If you end up having the chance to go to the ROC I would highly recommend it, if it's to do the '8 Hours' that's just icing on the cake! :)

Yeah, if I do the 8hrs, I'll most likely sign up for at least a LWSS race as well.
Only problem is, we're using MY bike for the 8hrs, sooooo... needless to say, no crashing allowed.

If you did enter any of the CCS Light Weight races you most likely would be racing against one of the Midwests' finest LW racers - Ed Key - he's in his 50's and wins the majority of the LW races he enters here in the Midwest. For example at the last Regional race in the Midwest (Blackhawk Farms) this season he entered 7 races and won 6 of them, the one he didn't win was a larger displacement class (even running against those higher Hp bikes he still placed 4th)!

Racing at DIS is all about Power to Weight Ratio, after that it's about aerodynamics, even for bikes the draft is HUGE at DIS. If you get behind a multi-bike draft you can actually slingshot around them at the finish line very effectively. :)

Yeh.

Scott Mullin, one of the guys I race against, finished right behind him this year in LWSS.
He also finished 2nd in ULSB... I forgot, supersport SV's & Kawi 650's are legal in that class now.
Scott's one of the guys I'm starting to reel in, so if all goes well maybe I can place decently.

Wish they listed lap times & gaps in the results.

LMAO!!!! Just messin with ya Oreo :)

On the main page of the CCS/ASRA website look along the left side of the page, the 3rd category is 'Racing Information', under that category is a link to 'Lap Times' that will take you to the 'My Racing Bio' website. It takes a little messing with the site to get the hang of all the features, but that's where it's at. That site doesn't list gaps between riders on every lap, but it does have a bit of info.

The unfortunate thing is that the very race you mentioned apparently had a data problem in the results, and even though there are results they are a bit scewwed up. The site and info is continually being developed and improved, it's actually fairly decent now, but in the future he plans on adding more info. :)
