Actually its probably preference, but, I love my Avon av49/50 azaros! Tire lets you have alot more lean angle than my previous crappy 208's. I have ridden a bike with pilot powers and loved them to. Avon's are less expensive and on my other 2 bikes i got excellent mileage out of them. I got over 8k on the rear on my cbrf4. That is all :phatyo

I loved my 45/46's, but I'm into sport touring. If I ran Powers, they'd be flat-spotted in a month. I need mileage, man! The Avons are a great tire for spirited riding, and will still have some tread after a 5k mile road trip.

Are the 49/50's the next generation of the 45/46's, or are they a stickier tire designed to compete with the Powers, Diablos, etc?

Give a look at the Mich. Pilot Roads. They have good grip and will last much longer than the Pilot Powers.

Yep, used them more than once and like them. The profile on the Pilot Roads is not quite as rounded as some of the competition, and turn-in isn't quite as quick and easy as I'd like.

Just spooned on some Pirelli Diablo Stradas; we'll see how those do.

I think they are a stickier compount...the 45/46 are sport touring and the 49/50 are a sport tire

I have no complaints, i love them more than powers because i get more life than i hear other people getting out of powers
