Someone ought to correct the seller then, if that is false advertising.
Anyone seriously bidding on that bike will know what they are bidding on... I just don't think the owner knows what he has... He also lists 40mm Carbs where they, K1 and K2, had 39's....

I also could have sworn the sticker was under the clear coat on the tank. Course its been a "few" years since I drooled over one in the show room so I could be mistaken about that...

I actually wanted one, but got a '92 EX500 instead.

I remember the sales lady was nice, and told me it wasn't that street friendly.

Something like it had to be revved pretty high to get out of first gear....unlike the standard
ZX-7 version.

Fast forward many years and we have the high rev Yamaha R6 :D

I guess the 7R was ahead of it's time?

I actually prefer the stock colors over the one with sponsor stickers/paint. The ZX-7R was such a beautiful looking machine it is what I think of when I envision what a sport bike SHOULD look like.

The late 80's,early 90's where a great time for the modern style 3/4 liter bikes with the fight between the VFR700/750,ZX-7R,GSX-R 750 and FZ700/750/YZF 750R. Of course we all know which one still survives today without much competition, but even with that the GSX-R 750 is still a technological marvel due to being on a parallel development line with the GSX-R 600.

With World Superbike being so popular I wish they could bring back the 750cc class using race prepped street bikes again or de-tuned,road legal race bikes however you want to look at it . It's something that the fans can relate to and as the power of the liter bikes keep going up and up we now see more and more factory installed electronic speed/power limiters(which can be defeated/switched out). It won't be to much longer until Big Brother steps in and "saves us" from ourselves.

Back in the 60's-70's riders usually progressed from say a dirt/enduro bike to a 350/450cc street bike to a 750 or 1000. Nowadays kids with NO riding experience want to just jump on a 600 sport bike to learn on and call it good, but that's another story. There really wasn't a 600cc class other than bikes like the CB500/550s which weren't much lighter than the 750s. The two-strokes of the time were pretty much the go-between if you didn't want a big cc,heavy four stroke 750,900 or 1000,but wanted more performance than what the 350/400/450 four strokes offered. I still believe the 750cc engined bike is the best all-around sized machine for the street.
