In case any of you guys are curious about why I'll be disappearing from the board for a while next month, you can keep track of me via the blog I've created.

http://jayvschina.blogspot.com

After all, that's what it's for. I promise it'll stay an interesting read and I'll update it as much as I possibly can. I'd rent a bike over there, but I think I might be deathly afraid of the roads. Better not. :p

Any impressions on how it's going are welcome.

Jay, just stay away from the cities if you're planning to ride---- bikes and cagers are all over the place and they don't have lanes. Well, they do, but bear in mind that there is no rule as to who's got the right of way!!!!!! Good luck on your trip.

I've been 'busy' for the last few years too, but then I realized, I'm only busy because I make it that way. It was simple, I just said I'm going to do it and now I'm going. I think there are some self-help tapes about this somewhere. :p

Carpe Diem.

Wow Awesome page Jay. You are so lucky to be able to take this trip. I know you probably have already given your reasons but what is the reason for this trip and what do you plan to do over there? Boy, I think I'd be really nervous about going to China for that long. I can't wait to read more about it!! Good Luck!!

Valid point. If it's not the gf trying to finish school, it's finances surrounding the condo, etc. China and Australia are the two big trips we'd like to do sometime.

Do you have a plan for what places you'll be seeing while there? I'm sure you'll have a blast.

My Chinese girlfriend isn't coming with me, she's a teacher and has no time off until the summer. I'm braving it on my own. Reasons? Adventure, a break from the monotony of working life, some life experiences, learning more about the culture to better understand the Chinese Canadians that I'm around every day... there are a ton of good reasons.
