According to witnesses Megan wasn't licensed to ride a motorcycle.

One killed, two injured in motorcycle collision

A 23-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured Sunday afternoon, when four motorcycles collided in Victoria County.

Megan Byrnes of Victoria was pronounced dead around 9 p.m. at Victoria's Detar Hospital, where she was taken after the accident, authorities said.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials said Byrnes was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle north on FM 447 near Lower Mission Valley Road, about 15 miles northwest of Victoria.

She was trying to catch up to three friends who were riding motorcycles ahead of her: 25-year-old Jennifer Jurasek and Zachary Jurasek of Port Lavaca, and 26-year-old Chris Whitney of Victoria.

The three riders slowed down to turn on Lower Mission Valley Road, DPS officials said, and Byrnes was not able to control her speed and struck another rider. All four riders were wearing helmets, officials said.

Whitney sustained a fractured hip and remains at Citizens Medical Center in Victoria. Jennifer Jurasek had minor scrapes and was treated by paramedics at the scene, and Zachary Jurasek was not injured, officials said.

Nah because you can never tell who the inexperienced or even unlicensed is until the shit hits the fan.
You can know someone for years and not know their incapabilities until the situation arises.

Sounds like she was riding past her skill level. License or no license, insurance or no insurance, if your riding to try to keep up with people, chances are, your riding out of your skill level. I feel that riding in a group is much safer then riding solo, depending on what type of riding your doing.

I don't ride with anyone I don't know. If I do, I stay at the back of the pack so I can watch them.

A long time ago, I had a few close calls with strange riders while riding in packs with people I didn't know very well. So, if a friend invites a friend for a ride, I'll ride behind them.

That doesn't happen often though because I don't like to ride with more than 2 other bikes at a time who I know really well.

That was purely do to irresponsibility on all parties. A responsible group will not allow riders to fall behind, and if they do, they will make sure that the behind rider knows that they have no obligation to keep up because they will be waiting for them up the road.

Don't generalize riding groups as bad because of ones stupidity.

I think pics (pre crash) are in order to fully understand the situation. If she looked like Megan Fox, I'd gladly go slow and wait at the stop signs for her. What probably happened is they agreed to let her come sight unseen, and then when it turned out she looked like hilery clinton, they were stuck behind a dump truck running away from her. Tragic really.....

Eh, there is a difference from riding in 'random' group rides and riding in a group with a few of your good friends.
Werd. you shouldn't eliminate group riding altogether just because of cases like these. most guys I ride with are track junkies or seasoned street riders. If there's a noob in the group, then we watch out for that person.

What do you mean you can't tell the inexperienced riders? In FL it is easy. The license plate says under 21 on it. In the area in FL where I live every time we come up on an accident that is usually the plate we see.

To much; too often.
