So I have put 5k on the F4 already, I think she needs her some oil.

What type, brand should I get?

What should I expect, I have not oil changed a Honda yet? And where did they install my oil filter?

Also I need to get some kind of spacers may to re-center my plastics because one side looks like she is about to fall off and the other is so tight there is a little bubble where it is pulled up against the frame to tightly.

Spectro Golden 20w50 is what i used and i BEAT my stuntbike to death, 1 trip into the swamp and about 60k hard ridden miles and it still ran with no smoke or knocks. I will swear by that oil.

Oil is Oil so it's up to you. I like the Castrol Syn and the Honda HP stuff but to each there own. The filter is in the front behind the headers if I recall correctly.

Oil is oil?? Awww man....bro!! OIL is OIL but synthetic blend has additives that further the performance of petro based oil. Additives like teflon etc. I dunno i wouldnt ever run car oil in my bike, but thats me I guess

:) if its $4/qt more over conventional oil vs $3,000 for an engine...well watch me spend $16 :)

We won't run car oil in for our bike oil either. :banana

same here but I don't want to start the debate about oil. I use Syn in all our bikes and I don't use car oil but some folks use it and it works for them without issue. I agree there is more to oil then meets the eye but every time this topic comes up you get 500 pages of reasons why my oil is better then your oil. DIG? :beer

My MOM (Motorcycle Owners Manual) says nothing about "Motorcycle Specific" oils. It does, however, say to use 10w40 SG or SF rated oil.

Any thing over and above is just unnessary overkill. (I myself am guilty) I use the "Motil" 15/50 blend.

Now let's do "Octane"
